Had the most surreal experience at Costco because of an encounter with the world's rudest woman. When I walked in to get new tires, this woman was there with her elderly parents. She was saying how the nail or bolt or whatever that was in her tire must have been put there by the Costco people because "no one at my apartment complex would ever do that."
um lady, it's not uncommon for there to be hardware on the road or freeway.
Then, because I went searching for a worker, I was served first. As I was paying, she made a snide comment about my credit card (problem with it swiping). She actually said to me, "When you have a problem with the card, you are supposed to cut them up."
Later when I came back, she and her parents sat on the bench and there was a woman, I presume, who had been there first and was between them. She started talking about how discourteous the woman was for not moving and then said, "She doesn't speak English anyway.
To which the woman replied, "actually yes I do." then they had this huge thing about being how no one was courteous anymore.
What a TOAD this woman was. The upside was that it made me want to be super nice to the tire workers.

I took the kids through the drive through at McD's tonight and the poor, harried worker dropped our sack and then had to run and replace some items. She handed me the bag and wished me a good-night. I smiled at her and said, "You're really doing a good job." Her smile went wider and she said thanks.
Oh, and DH is HOME! YAY!
