Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Congrats, Chi-town!

Man, I love reading grad school papers.

Does anyone know anything about NASCAR,and if there are any not to be missed books or really good magazines that I might get my brother for Xmas. I would like not to get him a sweatshirt again.

Also, if anyone knows what to get the 12 year old who has everything, let me know. Any great games for the PS2, the Wii, Xbox 360, or PSP? (I told you he has everything.) He particularly like cops or sports games.

To complete the trifecta, of random questions, does anyone know if the kid in tonight's PD is also the kid from Weeds ?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

The best racing magazine, by far IMO, is Racer. It's not just Nascar but it's the best coverage.

If he's a Jimmie Johnson fan, there's three-peat merch since it was a really historic season.

Is he near a track? A ticket for a race is good.

God, I am predictable in The Things I Know About.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I never made that recipe personally, Sue, but I remember the comments being very mixed. I like Alton Brown or Cook's Illustrated's mac&cheese when I make it at home. (Or the fancied up Cooking Light version with provolone and roasted veggies, but that one's kind of its own thing.)

ION, my baby is now old enough to eat cereal with a spoon. Sigh!

I think we need to start adding lard to it or something, though - noodle is in the 8th percentile for weight as per our last doctor's appointment. I'm telling him to enjoy it while it lasts, as it is obviously some kind of cosmic oversight and his parents' genes should be kicking in any day now.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Is that boy from Brooklyn, or what?

Ginger, thanks! He's not near a track, so tickets aren't an option. I don't know who his favourite driver is, I will have to ask my nephew.

Jessica, I think I have the Cook's Illustrated recipe around here somewhere. Thanks for the info.

You got a problem with that?
