Here's a good summary of publishing industry clusterfuck: [link]

People! It is very slow at work today! Please to be posting more!
On that note, I give you space beer: [link]
Boy, imagine if book sales hadn't increased.
space beer:
Neat! Only this:
There's really no beer like it because it uses 100 percent barley.
is very very sadly wrong and makes the baby Saint Gambrinus cry.
I don't wanna write a Greek history paper: it's the weekend, hence it's evil to do anything that doesn't make me happy.
Why can't I copy-paste this policy to every weekday? I don't mind reading articles, but actually thinking? And writing about something I'm not sure about it yet and don't have an original thought about?
Signed,
Don't wanna be a responsible adult, it is WEEKEND
Happy finding-each-other-versary, msbelle and mac!
What she said!!!
Frank, I am so sorry.
I partied too hard with my friends in town from California and with my boyfriend last night. Lucky boyfriend got to stay home today (although he is up and working and reporting on the goings on--which animal is sleeping where--back at my ranch). I found out that my friend put my band in his new novel playing at a club i used to go to ALL the time back in SF. Book is with his agent now. Fingers crossed that it eventually gets published!! I know that is not so likely these days.
Oy. The publishing thing is freaking me out. I have a new book! And another not far behind!
Crap.
And hell, I'd like to see Buffistas Books Being Published.
If book sales were up year to year I wonder if this is more a matter of just trying to cut costs in order to boost the stock. I don't know how many of these companies are private or public though.
The few positives for me-- only at the moment-- is that a) I have nothing on submission at the moment, so no chance of anything falling through the cracks and b) commercial fiction and young adult both remain fairly strong.
Pity I can't actually write a decent romance (by romance, I mean the play by the rules stuff the genre demands) to save my life.
