Yum. I don't even know what I'd pick.

In the past we've had a library party that is employees only and involves BBQ and a game of Trivial Persuit, a law school party which is for all the family and is finger food, booze and an appearance by Santa, and a university party which is more finger food, booze and cash door prizes.
I've gotten invites to the law school and university parties, but no word from the boss about a library party, yet.
Our party is the whole School (within the University) and my first year it was at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, last year it was at the Science Museum (which was AWESOME) and it's at the MFA again this year. I like going, it's big enough that you can disappear if you need to. I wish we were going to the Aquarium, which is where they had it the year before I started. Could hang with the penguins!
My larger team is having a potluck and white elephant gift exchange. The question is, do I try for a vaguely normal silly gift, or should I just go with wrapping up some wacky goth stuff, because that's what they expect me to do anyway.

Heh. I dare you to get a Precious Moments figurine....

Ewwwww. No. That makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
You could buy a Precious Moments figurine and have Pete turn it into a vampire...
The company part is up at a fancy schmancy resort about an hour away. The invitation came in the mail and specified Best Dress. My best dress is an Elizabethan gown, so not so much, and I'm not going clothes shopping.
Fortunately, on the same day, is the SCA fancy event, for which the Elizabethan gown is utterly suited.
Snowbabies?
