You never know if a girl's gonna say 'yes', or if she's gonna laugh in your face and pull out your still-beating heart and crush it into the ground with her heel.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I've been reading about Kune kune pigs (Maori breed from NZ) who are actually... kind of cute.

Still no decision on my auditing the next 3D course. I shall have to call & whine. Also a very unfruitful discussion with an Unemployment auditor who seemed to be fixed on the idea that I was trying to pull a fast one with regards to my benefits. You know, if I WAS, I'd at least like to have formed the conscious intention to.

So I've got to call the guy who handles Section 30 Unemployment verification at my college and try to get a plain English explanation of what's going on.

Did you people stay up too late with the TV too? Man, this grown-up shit is hard. I miss having a job where no one could really tell if I was awake or not. Also, where I could fall asleep on the way to work without killing anyone.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The kid with the puppet fear amused me, but the more I thought about it, the less funny it was. Poor kid.

ION, I feel like I'm coming down with a chest cold or something. So I should probably avoid coffee, except I really need it today. So my body is just gonna have to cope.

I should have stayed home. All sorts of hell breaking loose and it isn't even our fault! But it is our hell.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My boss is just back from Thanksgiving today, and I am currently listening to her on the phone with customer service somewhere, trying to order Christmas presents. Good times. I wonder if she knows how much her voice carries?

Odetta died. [link] She was such a powerful voice, in every sense of the word. I'm glad she lived to see Obama win. I feel lucky that I got to see her perform.
