Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Video of child afraid of puppets: DO NOT WANT!

I was a child afraid of puppets. (Side note: an italicized "I" looks really funny in html.) Puppets are scary! They have unreasonably large mouths which do not coincide with their speaking! They lead complicated lives which always have some sort of message. Mysterious people come out of the curtains and bow! Irrational!

Wait! Is the video of me? 'Cause that's just upsetting.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

"We've replaced Liese's musical instruments with a room full of puppets. Let's see if she notices..."

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

We've replaced Liese's musical instruments with a room full of puppets.

Aargh! Did I not mention my last singing, dancing anxiety nightmare? What are you trying to do to me? I ask you!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

On reflection, it occurs to me that I say "as a child I was afraid of puppets" but I don't know that I'm less frightened of them now. It's just that fewer people try to forcibly expose me to puppets these days.

I just spent 30 (sleep-depriving) minutes searching for the kitten. Who'd burrowed under the covers like he'd never done before. From now on? Next cat=grown cat! Kittens are tiring.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I worked with a gal who was afraid of people in animal costumes. When we had The Easter Bunny come entertain the kiddies one year she could not wait on her tables if The Bunny was in the same room as her section.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I have a pretty clear memory of a ventriloquist's dummy trying to flirt with me at a show when I was five or so (it might have been Jeff Dunham). I was humiliated and ran out of there before the show even ended.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Random rehearsal musing:

Tom Irwin says "I want your soul" in a way that makes me want to give it to him.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I find masks scary. Not the nice Venetian ones (unless I stare at them too long), but the big wooded ones.

Another 10 hours day at uni.

I love the studying, but damn, there's just too much of it. I skipped the regular-one-hour-work I'm doing on Weds, just to get 45 more minutes of sleep. I fell asleep with 2 history articles in my bed last night, past midnight.

Good morning, Americans, and I hope you'll read this post after getting enough sleep.
