"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I've never heard of a buttercup squash. It sounds little.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The good news is, buttercup squash is delicious!

(I had both tonight and preferred the buttercup.)

Kat, it looks kind of like a flat acorn squash. Tastes like a sweeter heartier butternut.

hip deep in pie

Looks sort of like a acorn squash but flatter. I guess it's similar to a butternut, so I'm good.

Is it easier to peel than an acorn squash? I find acorn squash hard to peel, but I like it better than butternut, so I usually use it anyway, but then I lose a lot of the squash's meat because I'm lazy with the scraping.

No idea - I just chopped mine in half and scooped out the seeds and baked it with butter & salt/pepper. Judging from how well it held its shape in the oven, I think it would be a giant PITA to peel.

Because books.

Why does it require handwaving for him to be British?

It doesn't, really. I just usually expect them to mention things like that if they're not consistent. But that's rarely true in movies, so I don't know *why* I expect it.

I'm taking a break and going through the pile of mail I scooped up while cleaning.

oh and remember that thing where I had never had an account with the gas company, but my gas has been on for the 6 years I've been here, and then I got all signed up and they turned off my gas instead of just setting up the account and billing me? Well the gas got turned back on in a few days and today I got the 6 year bill.....almost $700. YAY?
