Look, Angel, I know you've been out of the loop for a while, but I'm still evil. I don't do errands...unless they're evil errands.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

suggestion that one of them might be a good pet for the Obamas

Yeah, no. Spitz breeds? Shedding explosion!

“Not dead yet!”

Yeah, no. Spitz breeds? Shedding explosion!

Oh, so very word.

Because books.

What breed are the puppies, exactly?

They're Shiba Inus.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Shiba Inu.

Puppycam will not load for me. Too many people interested in puppies, I bet.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Probably not hypoallergenic. Which makes them not a good choice for the Obamas.

Because books.

I've never heard of that breed. Huh. They're adorable, is what they are, no matter what they're called. I want Purple Collar so much.

Yep, just my point -- if anything, they're hyperallergenic. (And a notoriously bad choice for inexperienced owners; just ask anyone who does Shiba rescue). But there's a sad tendency in morning-news level media to promote the idea of "cute! hey, everyone should get one!"

Sorry. I'll get off my totally humorless puppy-placement soapbox one of these decades.

Puppycam is down and not taunting you, for once.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Huh. The Washington Post has an interesting article about the survivors of Jonestown. [link] (It's in the Style section, for some reason. I think I give up on trying to figure out why newspapers put articles in the sections they put them in. The NY Times a few days ago had an article about the rising number of home births put in the Home and Garden section.) Anyway, interesting article. The comments, though, are crazy. Like, way crazier than I've ever seen a comments thread get this quickly. People claiming that pretty much everything they don't like about modern America is just like Jim Jones.
