"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Weekend: JZ took Matilda to meet megan walker and go to the anti Prop 8. rally.

Not so much. Apologize to JZ for me. My phone died and I didn't realize it until I had been waiting some time. I waited 1/2 an hour by work, and then went ahead to the rally, where I hunted around for another half hour or so. No luck.

Tell that to my two new puncture wounds. First time Devi's drawn blood from me over Loki. My own fault, but damn, this is slow progress and a bit of regress. I honestly think only him getting bigger+ house will resolve this drama.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I was at the Clinton inauguration in 2006

Oh yeah, of course by 1996, I meant 1997

Jesse has become unstuck in time...

I was at the '93 inauguration and actually got halfway decent standing room because my sister's elementary school choir was singing there. (Which REALLY irritated me at the time because it was MY elementary school choir too, only I wasn't in elementary school any more so I COULDN'T GO BACKSTAGE. And it all seemed terribly unfair.)

Punishingly Intricate

msbelle, I think tomorrow I shall visit this: [link]

Call if you want company and another set of eyes. I'll just be hanging around home tomorrow.

I have something for Matilda!

I know what it is !!! And want pictures when she gets it!

Compassionately intolerant

'93 inauguration

I hopped up on a flatbed truck at the very, very beginning of the parade route. Got to see all the groups getting their stuff together and watch them bursting with energy. It was freezing, but it was great.

One poor Midwestern woman had her illusions shattered when she asked me what the men on top of the National Museum of Art were going waving sticks around.

"Um. Ma'am. Those are sniper rifles."

Suddenly the parade was a little less sunny for her. Sigh.

Oooh! I'm trying to decide if I need to butch up and go without cheerleaders or not. But if I need them, I'll call you. Or even if I don't. I'm creeping slowly.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I know what it is !!! And want pictures when she gets it!

Well, now I'm askeered that it's Belinda II. I want to say, Oh, Perkins would never do that to us...and then I think about the seekrit mischief and sneaky evil that is Perkins, and I realize that she totally would.

Please, please let it be a meerkat onesie!

Aw, megan, I'm sorry. I called and left a message on your phone when the N Judah thwarted our plans to arrive on time. We ended up not getting downtown until well past 6; I debated just heading straight to the march but then worried that you might still be waiting at our meeting place, so we went there, found you not there, went back to the rally site, and found that the march had already marched all the way to Market & Church. At which point we gave up and came back home.

But at least plenty of people all over Muni got to see my sign ("This straight married churchgoing mom voted NO ON 8") and they were cheering and woot!ing and thanking me (it didn't hurt that for a good bit of the ride Matilda grabbed the sign and vigorously tap-danced with it). A block away from our apartment, a short burly bearish guy stopped us to ask if we'd been to the protest, and when I admitted that we'd tried but missed, he said, "Thank you, though. Thank you for even trying. Just thank you," and got all choked up and rushed into his apartment.

My city. My dear city.

I always get an invite to some inaugural dinner/ball thing from my college. Which I ignore because it's a couple hundred bucks. But since I went to college in IL, I'm toying with going this time.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

It is not Belinda II, though now I wish it were.

I am going to be in town next Sunday, so it may have to wait until then, unless I feel much more ambitious tomorrow or Sunday than I do right now.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse has become unstuck in time...

OMG, apparently. HERE IS WHAT I MEANT: Clinton's 2nd inauguration, whenever the hell that was.

I'd better go to sleep soon, before I get even more of the dumb.
