Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Since we were quoting from "Overheard in the Office" the other day, and since I get the feeling some people could use a bit of distraction - "Overheard at the Beach"

Busty tan blonde in yellow bikini, surrounded by 8 beautiful gay men drinking champagne and smoking pot: I mean, we should really just take a picture of this, and put it on a postcard: "Welcome to Venice Beach, bitches."

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

NYCistas - someone in my office just asked me if I know anyone who would be interested in a receptionist/office manager job at an architect firm in Manhattan. If you or someone you know are interested send me your information and I will pass it on. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE SALARY OR THE PERSONALITIES involved.

OMG, this one team I've been working with since spring is making me mental! What do I have to do to get them to comprehend the meaning of "FINAL VERSION." I'm maybe a third of the way through after a month. I do not want to redo that third because they cannot comprehend the meaning of FINAL.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Lots of asscaps. Deep breaths, people, deep breaths.

I think I shall have pancakes for lunch today, when lunchie time rolls around. And then go back to paperwork. My apartment looks like Levenger's exploded in it, but with less leather.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

We're currently having a bit of controversy about some ads - they're from the humanist society (lower-cased because I'm not sure of the exact name and I'm too lazy to check). Anyway, they've bought space on the sides of the buses. They read "You don't have to believe in a god. Be good for goodness' sake." Some people are outraged, most just want their bus to come (yes, some prayer may be involved).

Brief story here.

Hmm.

Giving up your seat for a pregnant woman? Ethical. Eating a french fry in a Metro station? Unethical. Holding a Metro train's doors open until they break, thus forcing everyone to be offloaded? Stone him!

I'm not sure the second is unethical. Against the rules, yes. There's a difference.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

For the last two mornings, I've had people waiting at the bus stop with me who were aggravating in their impatience. Listen up, people: walking to the middle of the road to huff and stomp your feet does not make the bus arrive more quickly, but having a pointless temper tantrum in my presence before I've had coffee may shorten your lifespan. I am just saying, I suffer from morning-induced sociopathy.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Hey bon, are you and bob bob up for dinner next week some time?

Robeks = yum if you like that sort of thing.

I like the calorie counts and they totally do influence me.

There was a thing on the news ... last night? sometime recently ... about the online application for a job with the new administration. It's multiple pages, some 63 questions, and they go into a lot of detail. Now ... there have been complaints about it infringing on applicants' privacy but it occurs to me that it's probably a good way to avoid embarrassing information coming out later. And the plum book's out, if anyone's interested.

It is! I have an application partially filled out! I don't know why, given that my daughter is sick and I can't really up and leave her. But, yes.

I'm not sure I'd qualify as a low level secretary anymore either. And i'd probably be too expensive on the Government pay scale for that work. But I have West Wing day dreams.

I'd heard about the ones in London -- I didn't know there'd be any in the US!

Come in and Worship "God"

Still not better than the church marquee I saw just before Halloween: "Jesus is the best treat!"
