I'm sure there are good reasons why this is true, but it seems really ridiculous that the Obama campaign be more or less legally obligated to throw a giant pizza party and then turn around and ask their supporters for more money.
Yeah, this! And, really, I'm pretty sure most donors aren't actually just giving to the campaign -- they are giving to the hope that their candidate will be elected -- necessitating a transition!
ION, have any NYCistas seen these subway ads?
Yeah, I see them all the time.
Huh - either they're not on my trains or I'm just not paying attention.
Regardless, I'm gonna say I don't like them.
Also, I like them! They confirm for me that I have a good sense of what's what. And I can eat a thousand calories at one meal if I want to!
I look at those calorie ads and think, "They're just sucking all the joy out of life."
Ah, I'm so embittered by the calorie counts on all the chain menus that seeing them on the subway feels more like a fun game...
the calorie counts never bother me. I think they're great. If I'm gonna eat my BK Wednesday, I like the reminder that I should eat nothing but salad and water for the rest of the day. Given the amount taxpayers pay for preventable health problems, I wish more things like this could be done for other issues.
And I can eat a thousand calories at one meal if I want to!
I totally don't see what's wrong with eating 1000 calories at one meal. At all. Cause I often only eat two meals. Or will eat one meal that's much much bigger than my other meals, if I"m actually eating three. So...that doesn't seem weird to me. I'm well aware that a Baja Fresh burrito is 1000 calories or more. But if I have a bowl of cereal for breakfast at 10am, a burrito at 4pm, and then don't eat dinner cause I'm still ful cause those things are HUGE....uh....OK, I'm not healthy. What??
