I will hopefully be picking up my brother from the airport and taking him to his hotel sunday night. It's not ideal, because it'll mean a late night (it IS about an hour from here...I was thinking of a different town) but it's an extra hour to visit with him. His monday is pretty booked, so I don't expect I'll get to see him then. But I might!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That was the image that almost caused me to accidentally kill myself. Not really, but when I was walking home over the bridge that goes over Rock Creek Park in DC, I totally thought for a second that I could just jump over it.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Juliana knows her Keanu.

Yes, yes I do.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm sorry to hear the bad news, DJ. Here's to finding a new job soon.

Weekend plans currently include dance class, grading, and a movie play date to see HSM3.

Thrive to spite them

The local paper today had a letter where the author was talking about reactions to the election, including comments that Obama should be assassinated and "drug behind a truck."

And that's just typical of a certain mindset. Not just Southern (although I can say it is) but the whole extreme right thinking -- the violence towards anyone who thinks different. It's not enough forthem to say, you're wrong, I think that's crazy, but it always has to be, you're wrong and I want to maim/hurt/kill you.

I don't understand that thinking and I never will. And this is applied to anyone, Kathleen Parker got a taste of it when she changed her mind about Palin.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

Weekend: sleep, lesson plans, grading, read a book, catch up on some work, go see a show. I should go to the Homecoming dance tomorrow night. Since the evil principal asked, though, I don't feel like it. Maybe it will annoy him.
