Happy Birthday Milady Windsparrow!
Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
That's it. I got a fuckton of work to do and four years to do it.
This economy ain't gonna fix itself.
Peace, bitchezzz!!!
Maybe they were worried Cheney had a gun in the wheelchair.
Cheney's got a gun...
Happy Birthday, Windsparrow!
Thanks. Personally, I think the best birthday present is the shiny new President we seem to have all chipped to give ourselves.
Happy Birthday, WindSparrow! I hope it's a lovely day.
So much peace~ma to Barb and askye and Kristin's school. Wow, January has been such a tough month. I sure hope February treats people better!
Totally unrelated, the math is killing me. Someone please save me from the maths!
Happy Birthday Windsparrow!
Happy Birthday, Windsparrow!
Cashmere, how's the computer?
Happy Birthday Windsparrow!!!!
Hey, ND (and other sound-type people): how does the ruling that the (I think?) "white space" in the broadcast spectrum can be used for commercial purposes affect you guys? Isn't that where wireless mics broadcast? Or am I just insane?Yup, that is where wx mics are. Yes, it will be a bit crazy. We have mic's that work just fine (well, in theory) now. But at some point in time, some asshat will sit in the first row with the latest widget, crackberry, apple device that will use those frequencies to communicate. And BAM our mic's will get a crazy interference in them, thus rendering them useless.
In theory.
We have no real clue how it will effect us until it happens. In the mean time, the most we can do is buy new mic's that are outside of those frequencies. But your average system of any decent quality is about $1,000-1,500 and can go up to well over $5,000 per mic! All happening when theaters endowments (tied to the market) are giving no returns. When donations are down. When belts are tightening. And every day brings word of another arts organization closing it's doors forever.
OK, off to work for me.
