Get up...get up, you stupid piece of... What did you do that for? What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear a word he said? All of you! You think there's someone just going to drop money on you?! Money they could use?! Well, there ain't people like that. There's just people like me.

Happy Birthday Windsparrow!!!!

Hey, ND (and other sound-type people): how does the ruling that the (I think?) "white space" in the broadcast spectrum can be used for commercial purposes affect you guys? Isn't that where wireless mics broadcast? Or am I just insane?
Yup, that is where wx mics are. Yes, it will be a bit crazy. We have mic's that work just fine (well, in theory) now. But at some point in time, some asshat will sit in the first row with the latest widget, crackberry, apple device that will use those frequencies to communicate. And BAM our mic's will get a crazy interference in them, thus rendering them useless.

In theory.

We have no real clue how it will effect us until it happens. In the mean time, the most we can do is buy new mic's that are outside of those frequencies. But your average system of any decent quality is about $1,000-1,500 and can go up to well over $5,000 per mic! All happening when theaters endowments (tied to the market) are giving no returns. When donations are down. When belts are tightening. And every day brings word of another arts organization closing it's doors forever.

OK, off to work for me.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Cashmere, how's the computer?

It's working this morning. I want to try the video chat feature and see if it works. DH wasn't very accommodating taking care of the kids and I had them jumping on the bed with me last night while I was trying to figure out the laptop issues AND the new crochet stitch. I was slightly crazy.

We need to reschedule our chat. I think I have single crochet down.

Our furnace repair guy is here to do the yearly check. The last time they did this, we lost heat for two days when they knocked a part loose. It took them all that time to figure out what went wrong.

Miracleman: Who picked this asshat to...what is this, anyway? Is he blessing us or something? What the fuck is "Saddleback"? Go get Dan Savage on the line, I got a couple questions, I don't think this is right.

Dan is already on it!

Right now, two definitions are neck-and-neck: It looks like "saddlebacking" is either going to be "gay anal sex with a condom (the opposite of barebacking)" or "a term for the phenomenon of Christian teens engaging in unprotected anal sex in order to preserve their virginities." "In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

I have trouble not slapping faces when I meet such an entitled little asses.

I often find myself mumbling, "I wish I had a root!" under my breath.

vw, what maths?
