[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

My sister linked me to a pretty funny blog post about the neti pot. It has one of the youtube vids embedded.

I'm going to a viewing. I know some of the family members, but not the 22 year old son who passed away.

Mmmm, the split pea soup sounds good. I'm making beef barley soup right now. I made beer bread last night to go with it.

I have the same brand as Hil's neti pot but mine is the squeeze bottle version. I've used it twice today to ward off a sore throat. I suspect it's not actually a cold coming on but a reaction to the incredibly. dry. weather. I'm shriveling!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The whole idea of neti pots makes my nose itch. I'm sure they're very refreshing, but....ew! Water up nose!

I was really hesitant too Jessica. The thing that makes it okay for me is that the water doesn't actually go UP the nose, but sort of sideways, through the nose. As a former swimmer, the idea of snorting water just wasnt' appealing. But this is nice. Warm and soothing.

This is kind of awesome. It's a mashup of Single Ladies and the Andy Griffith Show theme. [link]

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I don't find neti pots refreshing, but I do find them often necessary. Sinuses are stupid.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Clearly not designed for this climate. I cannot speak for certain if they worked better in the places where my ancestors lived. Somehow, I doubt it.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I've had to spray saline solution up my nose for several decades. So neti pots don't sound any worse. In fact the whole "they are not supposed to trickle down the throat thing" sounds like a real improvement over what I have to regularly.
