We can come by between classes. Usually I use that time to copy over my class notes with a system of different colored pens. But it's been pointed out to me that that's, you know...insane.

Two Lumps namechecked neti pots today!!

Speaking of great music from yesterday's concert (we were talking about that here, right?), I lovedlovedloved Jon Bon Jovi's duet with Betty Lavette, whom I had never heard of before, but now want to buy her albums. She's terrific! (And Bon Jovi was wonderful with her.)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Which kind of soup should I make for dinner tonight -- lentil or split pea?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

The Web site for Bishop Robinson's diocese has the text of his prayer, which I think is lovely.

I'm making the split pea soup, because I realized that I don't have enough lentils for lentil soup.

Making split pea soup tomorrow. Umm using a pork rib for flavor. (Unless I can get nitrite free, don't use bacon, ham or hamhocks, cause I found that cutting out nitrate reduces my headache frequency a lot. )

My split pea soup has lots of rosemary and garlic for flavor. If I'd followed my plan and made bread today, then I'd have bread to dip in it, but I got bogged down in laundry and cleaning and forgot about the bread. Maybe I'll make that tomorrow.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

My sister linked me to a pretty funny blog post about the neti pot. It has one of the youtube vids embedded.

I'm going to a viewing. I know some of the family members, but not the 22 year old son who passed away.

Mmmm, the split pea soup sounds good. I'm making beef barley soup right now. I made beer bread last night to go with it.

Compassionately intolerant

I have the same brand as Hil's neti pot but mine is the squeeze bottle version. I've used it twice today to ward off a sore throat. I suspect it's not actually a cold coming on but a reaction to the incredibly. dry. weather. I'm shriveling!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The whole idea of neti pots makes my nose itch. I'm sure they're very refreshing, but....ew! Water up nose!
