I got stupid. The money was too good.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

WTF?

WTFF?

Supreme Court Eases Limits on Evidence (Rough paraphrase: "The 'exclusionary rule' doesn't mean what it says -- the cops can gather evidence illegally and still use it, but only when we say so.")

As a Canadian friend of mine asked on another board: "What does the word 'illegal' mean in the States, anyhow?"

Legal Buffistas, help me out here: Am I reading this horribly, horribly wrong?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Those of us with below-freezing temperatures (and below-zero wind chills) are shaking our (frozen) fists in the general direction of Thailand.

Did I mention that yesterday I had to go outside at -18˚F to start my van? I wish that was a windchill...I think that was around -40.

You win at cold.

I'm not sure "win" is the right word...

Pretty much when the numbers dip in the negatives in Fahrenheit, the human body should be elsewhere.

As I left work tonight bundled up in -10˚F, heading for my van with wonky heating, to drive 50 miles through rapidly bottoming temps I had to remind myself I used to CAMP OUT in this as a teenager.

Then I reminded myself I was a couple hundred pounds lighter on my feet, the energy of even a fat teenager and, oh yes, I was *surrounded by bonfires* and, a handy nearby hunting lodge when things got really dicey.

Feh. So over winter.

I forget if the great sports bra discussion was here or in Natter. I got a Champion and love it so far. Thanks for the recommendations!

Crap. Anxiety attack coming on.

My whole "my new political attitude is cynical apathy" thing lasted about two days. I'm not so good at not caring.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Then I'd like to thank you for being kind human, Hil, and not a biased robot without free will/mind of her own.

Glad to hear the good news of some of you, and continuous health~ma to all who need it.

Thanks sj.

Mostly, I need to pull myself away from stressy stuff for a little while. But stressy stuff seems to be everywhere. I need to stop reading news sites so obsessively. There's very little I can do from over here, and borrowing trouble doesn't do anybody any good. (On the other hand, "it tolls for thee," and so on.)

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Continued healing~ma for Gordon. It sure was good to hear that he came through surgery ok. More peace~ma for you, Niki, and all who love Gordon.

Hil, I wish there were easy answers for anxiety attacks and for political issues. I'm trying hard to not give up hope in general.

Hil, pull yourself away from the computer for a while and do something relaxing if you can.

Generally, I'd go read a book. But the book that I'm reading right now is a murder mystery set in Munich in 1929. Not exactly relaxing. Also, I'm getting pretty stressed about teaching -- this semester is the first time I've been teaching a real math class by myself.
