Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

SIS IS HOME!

First time since the fightning began.

omnis, man, with her giant bag on her shoulder she went STRAIGHT for the cookies. Even before hugging my mom.

Yay for Shir's sis getting some cookies. That just makes me smile. Omnis, those may be the best cookies that I'll never get a chance to taste.

So much ~ma to you and your family, Kristin. Much love too.

Shir, I'm so glad your sis is home! Wonderful news!

I have thoughts about the zero tolerance policies, but I don't want to get into them. I work with little kids, and while I understand the need for the rules, the thought that kids can't play pirates with pretend swords (or usually air swords) and other such imaginative games bothers me.

Much family~ma to you and yours, Kristin.

I'm so glad your sis is home, Shir.

Did I burble over here last night about my new cat? He's a two or three year old, orange and white, former stray. He's a total cuddle-beast. He's also virile intacto, so I won't be bringing him home until after some snippage. Still, this time next week I'll have a kitty! As he was a stray he doesn't really have a name. I'm leaning toward Leifur, as he's been a wanderer.

Oh, Calli, that's wonderful! YAY! That's a very lucky kitty!

And in mememe, speaking of my kiddos, one of them said something that made me split a gut yesterday. So, I'm x-posting with my LJ:

The kids were playing with stuffed animals last night...all dogs, I think. And they decided to take them to the vet, so two of the kids became veterinarians. They're checking out all the dogs, and one of them comes out of the "vet's office" and says to the "parent," "He has blood in his stew. Don't eat it."

I had to turn away to stifle laughs. I don't want the kiddos to feel unsafe to explore language when I'm around. But, damn that was funny.

not your mom's socks.

Shir - so glad your sister is home ... and that you both have cookies!

Pix - much ~ma of all kinds to your grandmother and your family.

Ginger, did the UPS come?

Go Sail! Be the ball.

So this could have gone in Good Riddance, but, frankly, my life has gone fairly fractal over the last four months and it is going to end up in 09 GR instead, because I wasn't thinking about it much at all while I was dealing with teh medical stuffs. Which seem to be much better. Crossing my fingers.

Ahem.

As of today, I no longer work for Emo Craxy Nonprofit.

I spoke with my (former) coworkers and my (former) boss yesterday and had an awesome goodbye - no one could believe it's been 10 years. Much less me. Sent my boss & her husband a Gift Cert to Woodbury Kitchen in thanks for all the good times. And we laughed about the craxy, which I am now leaving with her entirely. I can't believe no one is going to call me at all hours or go demando on something that either isn't really an issue, shouldn't be, or is just plain ridiculous.

For now, workwise, I'm going to freelance a bit and spend some time writing some pseudo-academic articles on a topic that is very near and dear to my heart. I'm going to do some creative writing work. And dink around with graphics and social networking stuff and various game platforms and the like. And we'll see what happens.

And, yeah. I'm going to miss ECN a little. But it'll pass. As I cackle madly about not being there. Yippee!

I see most times we use here {{}} in tough times.
I'd like to reclaim hugs for good times as well, starting right now.

Sox, have you changed your phone number so they can't call you with "just one little question?"

Shir, I'm glad your sister made it home. I'm jealous of your cookie-having, but later today we're having red velvet cake for someone's b'day, so I'll survive.

Yay, Sail!

Pix, I hope your grandmother and family get the best news possible.

Yay for you Sox!

Daniel ordered some stuff for Christmas for me, that came yesterday - a tshirt that says, "You Never Forget Your First Doctor" and a Sonic Screwdriver pen with invisible ink that came with slightly Psychic Paper for writing sekrit messages on. The first message I wrote was "Thank you! I love you, you big geek!" Second. Best. Christmas. Present. Ever. (The best being the cat my cat-hating Dad got me when I was 8.)
