[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm glad you got home safe and sound GC.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I also freaked out when I saw 200 messages at 5 AM. I love how much we care about each other here and try to take care of each other.

Burrell, thanks for the encouragement. It was a nice thing to read this morning.

Morning, sj!

Because books.

Add me in to the freaked-out crowd. Poor Glam! I'm so glad you had us (well, some of us) here to help. And NO beating yourself up, please. For real. Like Plei said, booze happens.

Drunk story: Me, college, dive bar in Yorkville with dollar pitchers. Me, trying to play pool, while swaying, stumbling, and giggling. Huge old drunk guy sitting at the bar watching, shouting, "You couldn't hit the side of a BARN!" to the amusement of pretty much everyone in the bar but me.

Then there was the time with four bottles of red wine at a friend's house, and S. having to literally pour me into bed IN FRONT OF THE BABYSITTER who had been sitting with Jake.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Well it is quite true, Deena.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I'm so very glad things turned out okay. And you're an excellent caretaker, GC--in pretty bad shape yourself, you were watching out for your DW, taking care of her when she got sick, and checking in here to keep yourself anchored and sane and work out a safe, practical solution. No beating yourself up over this, please!

And big admiring (but completely unsurprised) hugs to all of last night's anchors and comforters and problem-solvers. Y'all are awesome.

Morning, Deena!

It's my mother's birthday today and despite my protesting she is having us over for dinner (lasagna) to her house. I bought her a Coach wallet (from the outlet),which I'll probably get in trouble for doing. It really wasn't very expensive though.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

GC, sweetie, hope you wake up and realize what we all know -- these things happen, no need to beat yourself up or feel embarrassed or silly. Somebody said 'start telling drunk stories' and I immediately though "oh, hell which one!". NO WORRIES.

I have heard of a guy who decided to sleep it off being arrested for dui when he was parked with the keys on the seat next to him but I think that was an extreme case.

yes, and no. I know of a case where a woman got into her car in the parking lot in the winter of South Dakota. she turned on the car to keep warm, just wanted to sleep it off, and she got arrested. She was exercising dominion over the vehicle (IOW, she could have driven ). If you are going to be in that kind of situation, sit in the back seat of the car.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Noooooo!

Oven's doesn't work: no banana-chocolate muffins nor lasagna. Two things that would have improve my week very, very much.

Hello, campus cafeteria.

Or I just might try to do the lasagna on the tiny toaster oven, and buy lots of baked shit I didn't make.

I made a caramel apple pie last night. It was very good, but I should have used a little less sugar with the caramel.

It may be time to unearth the bread machine.
