So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I have to say I'm boggled by how many Buffistae had to put their houses on the market this year when the market tanked. Plei, Suzi, Herself, Cash... It's brutal.

Well, our big problem was that our house wasn't (still isn't, as we've slacked due to tanked market) ready to list when we thought it would be. We signed the contract on this place, and a week later, my Dad was basically out of commission and unable to help, my father-in-law was told he had to have surgery, and thus our two main free sources of labor were no longer available. So now we have a probable rental house.

I don't know. Not our smartest move (I did propose that we sell and rent, which would have been smarter), but oh well.

To me the perfect soft-boiled egg is completely solid white, and mostly liquid yolk just starting to turn solid where it touches the whites.

To me the perfect soft-boiled egg is somewhere very far away from me. Cincinnati works.

I prefer them to be on another continent.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I've never had one and now I'm curious. I might stop for English muffins on the way home and try a soft-boiled egg for dinner.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I love soft boiled eggs! Very comforting to me, and associate them with sitting on my grandfather's lap.

But I like all my eggs loose anyway.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

At 4 minutes I guess the yolks are pretty much solid. To me the perfect soft-boiled egg is completely solid white, and mostly liquid yolk just starting to turn solid where it touches the whites.

It depends, I suppose on a few variables (how many eggs in the pot, if you turn off the burner the instant it reaches boil, etc.), but I made 3 eggs this morning, and about 20 seconds after the water was rapidly boiling, I moved the pot to a cold burner. The eggs sat for probably 4:20-ish before I cracked them, and the results were basically like omnis described -- mostly solid white (with a little wateriness in one), liquid yolk just starting to turn solid where it touches the whites.

Truthfully, another 20 seconds would probably have been perfect (I'm opposed to watery whites).

I should note that in the interim between my first soft-boiled egg post and #5275, I had more gastrointestinal badness of a disgusting variety. No details, except now there's more laundry.

I'm utterly mortified and ashamed that my boyfriend has to (1) see this and (2) deal with it. Seriously. I started crying in the bathroom because I was so embarassed, and now I can't stop.

Our wings are not tired.

Teppy, you didn't get sick on purpose. I understand not wanting to be taken care of, but I suspect that you would step up and be caretaker girlfriend if The Boy had been the sick one this time around. Also, take drugs.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I love eggs over easy. Yum. And soft boiled, too. Gimme them yolks!

I have to say I'm boggled by how many Buffistae had to put their houses on the market this year when the market tanked. Plei, Suzi, Herself, Cash... It's brutal.

Our experience wasn't fun, but we were LUCKY in that we had the company buyout and the cash on hand to pay to get it ready to sell and to carry two mortgages for a bit. We got ours on the market just on the cusp of the collapse so it could have been much, much worse.

The relocation company still hasn't sold it--even though they've reduced the price to $25K lower than they paid us for it. It's listing for just $6K over what we paid for it nearly 10 years ago.
