I have to say I'm boggled by how many Buffistae had to put their houses on the market this year when the market tanked. Plei, Suzi, Herself, Cash... It's brutal.
Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Buffistas, do get better. Now.
I haven't been this sick in a LONG time.
I had my soft-boiled eggs and english muffin this a.m. Tasty.
At the hospital, they gave me an Rx for an anti-nausea drug, and a drug that slows down the smooth muscles in the lower GI tract, to stop/prevent diarrhea. Both drugs had the instructions to take 4 times a day "as needed until diarrhea stops."
Well, how do you know it's stopped, if you're medicating yourself to artificially stop it?
My guts felt fine when I woke up, so I assumed the diarrhea had stopped, so I didn't take the meds. (Surely you can see where this is headed.) Eating breakfast, however, was like starting up a NASCAR engine.
I'll spare you the details of the rest, except to say that now there's laundry in the wash and I am beyond mortified at what nastiness The Boy has calmly dealt with in the last 36 hours. If it was possible to actually die from shame, I would.
No throwing up, though, so I call that a tiny win.
I'm physically sore -- muscles, I mean -- through my entire stomach/abdomen and my back. And I've lost my voice because my throat got so irritated from throwing up over and over.
At least I have a few days before Christmas so I can get better in time for festivities. Everything I've read says that this is a fairly short-lived illness (like 1-2 days generally), so I'm hoping to not be an outlier.
This post brought to you by the letters T, M, and I.
man that sucks Teppy. I hope you feel better soon.
Are soft-boiled eggs the ones you eat from an egg cup?
Are soft-boiled eggs the ones you eat from an egg cup?
Yes. Or, some people do; I don't. I cook them for 4 minutes and then crack and scoop them all together into a bowl.
At 4 minutes I guess the yolks are pretty much solid. To me the perfect soft-boiled egg is completely solid white, and mostly liquid yolk just starting to turn solid where it touches the whites.
Yay, the Sock and Awe game is made of win!
Seasons greetings and best wishes to you all from the snow oasis of Vermont. Looking over the meadows and to the mountains I'm reminded how lucky we all are to have great family and friends. Hope 2009 brings health and good spirits to you all after some of the challenges you have faced and are dealing with. This old farm hand will dream of May and certain lovely lady down south.
Peace & Cheers

Well, our big problem was that our house wasn't (still isn't, as we've slacked due to tanked market) ready to list when we thought it would be. We signed the contract on this place, and a week later, my Dad was basically out of commission and unable to help, my father-in-law was told he had to have surgery, and thus our two main free sources of labor were no longer available. So now we have a probable rental house.
I don't know. Not our smartest move (I did propose that we sell and rent, which would have been smarter), but oh well.

To me the perfect soft-boiled egg is somewhere very far away from me. Cincinnati works.
