Zoe: Captain will come up with a plan. Kaylee: That's good. Right? Zoe: Possibly you're not recalling some of his previous plans.

'Safe'

Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

And Fay, I'm glad you made it home safe and sound.

Well, safe anyway.

*Billy Connolly was Eddie Izzard, or possibly Robin Williams, only a generation earlier.

I remember a special he had in which he had a skit of an exchange of money between him and his wife that left him cleaned out.

Billy replaced Howard Hesserman in the final year of "Head of the Class." I only saw a few bits of him doing it, as I had tired of the show by that time.

Comedy Central used to show his standup bits in the '80's.

I had a bit of a crush on him when he was in Billy, the short-lived green-card-marriage sit-com, and didn't realize it was a spin-off of Head of the Class. But then, I didn't exactly follow Head of the Class closely.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

One of the funniest damn things I've ever seen is Billy Connolly talking about Australian animals:

“Not dead yet!”

Love Billy Connolly! I have some DVDs floating around the house of his old standup routines.

Survived the Beginning Band concert last night. Actually, surprisingly good considering that three months ago, these kids didn't know bass from treble. And while I didn't snap pictures or take video (I'm a horrible parent that way), I can report with musician's objectivity, that Nate did fairly well (as a mom, I will shriek to anyone that he was AMAZING-- the best percussionist EVAR *ahem*). Actually, the place where I was most proud of him was where the music slid off the stand because one of the other percussionists hit it by accident and Nate (forgive the pun) didn't miss a beat. Just calmly kept going until the music was back in place.

Dude, my boy's a musician.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Go, Nate!

We have the company holiday party today. My division's new director thinks we'll get work done at it. Hee. Heh heh heh. Such cute optimism. So soon to be crushed.
