[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Teppy, don't blame yourself. It may have been set off just by the tension from the panic attacks. I hope it's something that's easily treatable.
The library just got on my last nerve, which is sad. "My" branch is being renovated, and I do not like the alternatives. Today, someone who was being a parking vulture sat in the middle of a one-way parking lane for 10 minutes, when there would have been plenty of room for people to go around if she was not SITTING RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE. There were only about 15 cars behind her. Then there was a small child who was making that noise, the one that can only be made by a child around age 2, the scream sounds like it could break glass. I like small children, but it went on and on and on. Then I checked out the books with the self-checkout, but they set off the exit alarm, so I had to go stand in line anyway. It's all minor stuff, but I was having a bad day already. Also, the library is my friend. It's not supposed to attack me.
Back from the ER; got a shot of dilaudid in my ass and was in and out in 2 hours. The pain is by no means gone, but it's back to "tolerable," as opposed to "unfuckingbearably agonizing."
The ER doc said that it's very possible that the meds my primary care doctor prescribed on Wednesday just hadn't had enough time to work, and because the pain got so bad, the drugs couldn't even make a dent in the pain.
He said that ideally, the injection of dilaudid would break the pain cycle enough to allow my muscles to chill the fuck out and *then* the other meds can do some good.
I'd say that, on a scale of 1-10, where 10 is sheer agony, my pain earlier today was an 11. Seriously. I have no words for it. And now it's a 3.5-ish. Like I said, enough to be tolerable, although sitting is still particularly bad. (Though that could be from the HUGE FUCKING NEEDLE the nurse used to inject the dilaudid in my ass.)
The dilaudid has also made me sleepy and loopy, so I'ma snooze for a while.
Oh, Steph. I'm glad you were in and out of there quickly. Hang in there.
Words that should never be uttered while quilting: "Mom, is it just me, or does this look like a swastika?"
ETA: It has since then ceased to exist in that form (actually, it didn't make it two minutes in that form), but boy was I mortified when I got it all ironed and took a good look at it.
Glad the pain is receding, Steph.
I'm glad you are feeling better Tep!
Is anybody else really tempted to Google "nazi quilt design" now? No? Just me? Oh well, we all knew I'm a little off.
Teppy, I'm glad that you got some relief. I hope those muscles do chill the fuck out and get over their trauma.

I've actually seen swastika quilts before, mostly from the 1920s or earlier, when it was considered a good luck symbol. [link] I also remember once seeing a photo of Jackie Kennedy as a little kid, wearing an outfit decorated with swastikas. edit: [link]
Teppy, I'm glad they could lessen the pain for you. I hope the full relief comes soon.
o_a, the pain relief isn't what I'd hoped for, but this is a diagnostic procedure as well as one to provide relief. So something should be deducible (deductable???) from the results either way.
Just not looking up or down without torso motion (moving my eyes to the edge of their range hurts my haid, stupidly enough).
Tep, here's to the dilaudid knocking you out the right way.
