I spoke up because I sensed that VW was feeling torn; that maybe she wanted to still give the gifts, but maybe felt like she couldn't lest the world think her improper or succumbing to the whims of her insensitive ex.
I fully get feeling protective of her and the grrrr, totally. I just think all of the feelings aren't mutually exclusive, that's all.

vw, I've been very impressed with how you've been approaching this whole situation. I just wish I were closer to offer support, hugs, company, etc.

VW I wish I was in Austin, and not just for CrazyBlindDate. Funny, I keep thinking CBD is CarrotBaconDude. Either way, I agree with the sentiment. Bacon is Good! Aside from that, you are wise. So do what you think best.
Maybe we are all head-explodey, but I really think it is far more important in this thread to support each other than to give the benefit of the doubt to those who make our heads explode.
I support both the supportive-being, and the multiple perspectives-giving, with the proviso that any given person needing support and/or perspectives is encouraged to ask for and get what they need more of at any given time.
