Bah, stupid paper.
On the upside, Tom is simmering some flageolet beans for cassolet!! It smells good in here.
'Smile Time'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Omnis, I'm sorry about the headache. Sometimes a magnesium or folic acid supplement can help. So if you were here, I could get you all fixed up. Also we have caffeine in many forms.
Kristin, I hope you kick the ick quick, Z-pack or no.
And so here I am, all dressed up with nowhere to go, and no way to get there. That is to say, I took today off, then noticed there was a concert that I thought a couple of the residents would enjoy, and figured that the way to get me off my butt to go myself, was to offer to take them. Except now I try to start the car to go get them, and I get tick-tick-tick. So I call the house manager, and she wasn't crazy about people going out in this cold weather anyway (wind chill is in the single digits), so she's not upset. But the concert is being held at the church across the street from here So I could go by myself. Of course, it's more like across the street and around the block. It's the "around the block" bit I'm not crazy about.
I made chili yesterday and am heating it up right now. Yum.
I have sour cream, sharp grated cheddar and saltine. Superyum.
The WSJ online has a headline that says "From Dracula to Nixon." I was thinking was an essay on the evolution of evil, but then I realized it was about Frank Langella.
I hope the "tick tick tick" is something cheaper than the starter, WS. If you decide not to go, don't beat yourself up. It's pretty damn cold here, but at least we have more than one digit. This is the coldest stretch we've had in some years. I hope it's been long enough to knock back the insect population.
Stupid paper
I'll be out this evening, Nora, but I'll be in tomorrow.
Feel better, people. Omnis, it's alway useful to have some form of caffeine around the house. It really helps headaches (it's the extra ingredient in Excedrin), plus someday you might have someone over like me, who becomes really cranky without caffeine.
vw, I know it's hard, but I'm glad y'all are confronting it head on. The money thing is a little weird, though. You absolutely never know who's going to end up making more money in a relationship. He could lose his job and you could write a best-seller about therapy.
I finished grading for the semester!
I was going to go grocery shopping after I finished grading, but it's cold out and my shoulder hurts.
OK, now my shoulder really hurts. Took some Motrin. Still ow.
I hope the "tick tick tick" is something cheaper than the starter, WS.
Well, Daniel has been saying for a couple weeks that it was due for a new battery soon, so that's the odds-on favorite.
Thanks for the well wishes. Must have helped. The evil chair finally won, and coaxed me to sleep. I missed the last part of the Philly/JerseyGiants game. But the headache is mostly gone. When the evil chair lets me go, I'm gonna see if I got any of the pecan pie in the leftovers haul last night. It has choco in it. Might push the last of the headache away.
Matilda and I are watching Charlie Brown Christmas.
She keeps muttering, "Charlie sad. Charlie sad."
So true.
She totally gets the Peanuts.
How does she feel about Snoopy?
