Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Yeah, I s'pose another year would be better to take a stand.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

All my g-parents are dead and it's so NICE to not have to do the ridiculous shlepping about to houses and to see relatives that make you crazy. We had to literally gear up mentally to go spend Xmas Day at my maternal g-parent's house in the 80's when my g-parents were raising my Uncle Jimmy's 5 WT kids from his first marriage...they all got pregnant/got someone pregnant in the teens, so the house was full of sullen babymama teenagers, howling babies and toddler with no manners. And my cousin Beau, who ended up stealing a lot of shit from my g-parents before he landed in prison for...GTA!

I remember a 6 year old walking up to my dad and kicking him in the leg, which was like the Darwin Awardest thing to do. My dad glared at him and then the kid laughed and did it again, at which point my dad picked him up, adminstered 3 firm spanks, and in his scariest dad-voice said "You do NOT KICK people."

And then we left. I think that cousin is in jail now. But he never kicked my dad again.

Good times. Holidays are just me, mom, dad and sister, and they involve lots of reading, HGTV, football on Xmas days (I read, they watch) and sleepy coffee/tea drinking while opening Xmas presents on Xmas morning while laughing after sleeping in. MUCH better.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

2 Tylenol, 16 oz of water, and big bowl of cereal has not cleared the headache. I don't think I'm going out in the cold to REI today.

Have you had caffiene, O_A? Have a coke or a cup of coffee with sugar (or tea).

Don't have any of that in the house. I rarely do the caffiene.

Hrm. I got nothin' then.

Whenever I am headache plagued, I make sure I drink something with caf, but then, I am addicted. Must have at least one cup of something caffienated every morning.

Order a pizza and get a Coke? (And hey, then you have pizza!)

“Not dead yet!”

Yeah, caffeine is helpful for headaches. Have you got any chocolate in the house o_a?

What? It's got caffeine.

Bah, stupid paper.

On the upside, Tom is simmering some flageolet beans for cassolet!! It smells good in here.

Omnis, I'm sorry about the headache. Sometimes a magnesium or folic acid supplement can help. So if you were here, I could get you all fixed up. Also we have caffeine in many forms.

Kristin, I hope you kick the ick quick, Z-pack or no.

And so here I am, all dressed up with nowhere to go, and no way to get there. That is to say, I took today off, then noticed there was a concert that I thought a couple of the residents would enjoy, and figured that the way to get me off my butt to go myself, was to offer to take them. Except now I try to start the car to go get them, and I get tick-tick-tick. So I call the house manager, and she wasn't crazy about people going out in this cold weather anyway (wind chill is in the single digits), so she's not upset. But the concert is being held at the church across the street from here So I could go by myself. Of course, it's more like across the street and around the block. It's the "around the block" bit I'm not crazy about.
