Jayne: Yeah, that was some pretty risky sittin' you did there. Wash: That's right, of course, 'cause they wouldn't arrest me if we got boarded, I'm just the pilot. I can always say I was flying the ship by accident.

Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The status is NOT quo.

So apparently two houses on our street have been robbed in the past two days. I'm more than a little freaked out.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

aw crap, vw. I hope that this is just a thing that he has to do. It's all very intense and I'm sure he just needs to work some stuff out.

Eek Kristin! I bet neither of those houses have a big scary guard dog. Still, lock the back door, 'kay?

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Kristin, that is scary.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

{{{vw}}} I'm sorry. What everyone else said here, and I don't think I know any population like Buffistas that's not not fighting (dear God, it's morning, I hope I did the double negativity right), and not not worth fighting for. Hell, I think you all are extremely brave just for being in a relationship and taking that chance.

Safehouse~ma to Kristin. It is worrisome.

As for The Greeks. They make yummy food. Strong booze. In the past it was common for men to fraternize with other men, or their mothers. They ran long distances only to say the name of a shoe company, and then drop dead. And recently they improved their mass transit system when they hosted an international event that they are still paying for. There is other stuff about how the rest of the world copied their architecture and government, but those are minor foot notes.

All I can say is that I used the word "ouroboros" in this paper.

One of my favorite words.

Now, this is x-posted with previous Natter post, but I'm trying here as well, just in case (because b.org can be like a big game of 6 degrees):

Any chance someone from here knows anyone from that Neo-Victorianism conference?

Purely academic interest.

Librarian Warlord

The dog got me up at 4:30 with a lick to my face. She went right back to sleep, but I've been up ever since.

vw, I hope he takes the time to realize all the ways you are simply wonderful.

Yesterday we put up a Christmas tree and some lights outside. Surprisingly, my DH had qualms about the outside lights (he's Jewish) because he felt like it was announcing ourselves as Christian. I pointed to the tree in front of the windows about which he had no qualms and said, "Wha-huh?" He got over it, but I ordered an electric menorah to put in one of the windows, replacing the single candles I already had there. File under: Boyz are silly.

I had a moment of sad-panic yesterday when we couldn't find the tree decorations, many of which were made by me (not a big deal) or by my sisters and mother (a very big deal). That box also had my xmas stocking that my mother made when I was born. I figured with two big moves in less than a year, it had been lost/misplaced, but we finally found it after the third trip to the attic.
