I'm a vision of hotliness, and how weird is that? Mystical comas. You know, if you can stand the horror of a higher power hijacking your mind and body so that it can give birth to itself, I really recommend 'em.

Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Because books.

I love it when I can tell Nora's a Friends fan.

Is it *still* beeping, Barb? I would be frantic by now. I hate noise like that.

“Not dead yet!”

Yep-- still beeping, about every 3-4 minutes. Strangely enough, it's easier to ignore now that I'm awake. I've got music playing through my desk speakers and it provides enough of a buffer that it's not really bothering me as much. It was in the dark, in the silence, when I wanted to be sleeping that it was a wee bit of an issue.

Of course, now that I have three cups of coffee in me and have started on my first Diet Coke of the day, we'll see how long the sucker lasts.

Uh oh. She's caffeinated now. Watch out, smoke alarm.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Barb, you have my sympathy. I once had to go out at 2am and get batteries for one of those smoke alarms. I applaud you being able to stay home. I would be losing my mind.

vw, I'm sorry about the asshat. You were so much nicer than I would have been.

I ended up getting a little more sleep last night, and my asthma is calming down. I have a benadryl hangover, and I'm trying to get over it before Mom gets here.

Watch out, smoke alarm.

Damn skippy.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Working from home today, basically because I can. Work laptop to the right of me, my laptop to the left of me, blinds open on the window so I can watch the snow fall, cat curled up at my feet and a hot cup of tea within easy reach. Yeah....I can do this.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, ugh, Barb. The fire alarms in our building are the same way -- thankfully, our ceilings aren't quite as high as yours, but it's still crazymaking. Hec can come in later and tell fun stories about the plague of false alarms in the mid 90s when electrical problems set off all the fire alarms and everyone had to evacuate in the dead of night and stand around in their PJs in the fog waiting for someone to reboot the entire building.

Really, whoever thought such a setup was a good idea, even for a second, and what were they on?

I've been ~ma-ing for DJ since omnis's request yesterday. Hoping things are better today.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

The weird think about the condos I live in is that they have smoke alarms that are wired in, but they also have red fire alarm pull switches in the living room. Which work, as we found out when someone with a three year old who could just reach them moved in.

Librarian Warlord

We have an admin person here who has been at the U. for a thousand years, so she knows every person and every form that exists. However, she rarely works a Monday, a day when the BigBoss is out, or, you know, when she doesn't feel like it. We don't begrudge her the time (she's earned it), but we're all jealous of the schedule she's set up for herself. All week she's been out and her emails this week have been amusing me to no end. Today she can't come in because she's "not safe to drive."
