"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Also II, I got an invitation for a party from a guy I went to very few classes last year until I canceled my application to uni because of the strike.

I wonder why, on earth, he invited me, and if he even remembers me (hell, I remember the name, but I don't remember how the guy looks like).

I think I'll give it a try - why not? It's supposed to be close, and if it'll suck I can always go back home after 20 minutes.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

The Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special and Pangs have been watched, the fudge has been made (our contribution to tomorrow's feast, along with brown sugar cookies), and now we get in bed.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

OK, dental question: what can one expect when taking her wisdom teeth out? Anyone here had this before?

Signed, Can't miss a lot of university days and heard some scary stories

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Happy Turkey Day, people!

(Shir - sorry I can't help wrt the teeth - good luck, though, mate.)

So, word is that we're probably going to have another coup tonight. Things seem to be coming to a head. I'll keep you posted.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Stay safe, Fay.

Shir, the one I had taken out had been so badly infected and swollen that I could not open my mouth for them to take X-rays. I was pretty out of it that whole day. The next couple days, I was still taking the pain meds, and pretty out of it from that, but after that I was ok. I wonder how much faster I would have snapped out of it if the was not the infection. If I were in your shoes, I would do my best to schedule the procedure on the last day before the weekend, because then there would be the weekend to relax and recover.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Good luck, Fay.

Shir, I had four wisdom teeth out while I was at college. They were pretty imbedded, so the dentist had to grind them out. Or so I was told—they knocked me out for the whole thing. I had it done on a Friday, downed painkillers over the weekend, and I was able to get by on ibuprofen by Monday. Crunchy foods were out for a week or so, but if you're looking for an excuse to live on ice cream and pudding, this is an effective one. I hope the extraction goes well for you.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Okay, so I went to the little corner store to buy sugar. It was closed. WTF? Remember that a friend lives nearby, will amuse me to call and ask to borrow a cup of sugar. Go home to call friend, can't find cell phone. Call from home phone, get no answer (she's probably screening since I never use my home phone). Get in car to drive to store. Get to store realize that I've managed to dunk the garage/building door opener into the glass of water I have in my car (I have a saab, so the key goes next to the seat, right in front of the drink holder) The little light won't go off.

Buy sugar without incident, get home, make cake, it's in the oven. realize that I won't have time to frost the cake before I go to my mom's house because I was so behind with the sugar saga. Feh.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Sad sugar saga.

Bring frosting, do it there.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Daniel is wise. And people who don't annoy you get to lick the beaters!

Fay, be safe. Thoughts are with you, candle lit.

Happy Thanksgiving, those who observe it. I'll be spending it with in-laws, in between hours-long drives. On the plus side, I'm not cooking, and there will be leftovers!
