Yesterday, my life's like, 'Uh-oh, pop quiz!' Today it's like, 'rain of toads.'

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Oh, ND, I am so sorry. Go away pinched nerve!

Um, why should the kids be more important? In life, sure, but for that one hour block?

I'm with brenda on this one.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

feel better~ma, ND.

Have you taken anything? I suffer from something similar sometimes and it doesn't make the pain go away but a couple aspirin makes it bearable.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Um, why should the kids be more important? In life, sure, but for that one hour block?

I mean in the sense that I shouldn't expect them not to pay attention to the kid, i.e. if the kid is about to knock over a vase in the middle of my story, I shouldn't expect the parent to not intervene with the kid.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ease to you, ND.

I am not nicer. Y'all take that back. I told you it was the guilt talking.

Well, more important in a "if you don't pay attention to them, they may wreak havoc, or choke to death or something" kind of way, depending on how old they are (they sound young). You can't really resent that. Not more important in a "they HAVE to come!" way.

Agreed with everyone else, Vortex...

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Vortex, as it sounds like she's trying to work seeing you in with an existing, pre-scheduled outing with husband and kids, I'd suggest the Bev Plan.

(As a parent with just the one car, it's frustrating for me, because I'd love to see people without husband and kid, but that rarely works out for us in terms of transportation and schedule. So I expect she'd prefer to just see you, and get quality hanging out time, but may be thwarted by the realities of her transportation needs for the day.)

Our wings are not tired

Not yet. It wasn't horrible when I got up today, but it seems to be getting worse and worse and now I can feel my whole upper back tensing up. If I can find some ibuprofen I'll take some.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Hope you can find some ibu, ND.

Vortex, I hope you can find a way to spend a little while with your friend, but have no words of wisdom to add to what everyone else is saying.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Are people following the news on today's attack in Mumbai, India? It seems that British and American tourists were the main targets. It involved attacks at multiple locations.
