Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

'Bring On The Night'

Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

[Detailed student-stuff retracted.]

But dude, why do I get so invested in the students who absolutely refuse to do anything?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

There are some pretty good pre-made pie crusts out there now, and you might as well go simple with your first pie.

The refrigerated folded Pillsbury pie crusts are decent.

You put your hard work into her therapy, and she's just blowing it off.

Therapy is hard, and she may have hit one of those points where she'd rather be mad at the therapist than herself.

For those of you following along breathlessly with my hair coloring saga, it seems to have covered the gray and the roots seamlessly, but it's a little drab. On the other hand, my hair is very shiny. Maybe I should go redder next time.

Mostly lurking...

On hold with the nurse at the PCP's office. They didn't get my message from the answering service. Grrrr. But, now they're trying to squeeze me in to be seen today. She says I sound really wheezy. YAY!

I told her I was hosting Thanksgiving, and she said maybe not. Fuck my body.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Iris is an adorable birthday girl, and the party looks very fun.

man, that cake nearly started a riot. remind me to have the butterfly cover the entire cake next time so that everyone can have an equal part of the butterfly. oi.

Hah! I remember those days of fighting for the "best" piece of the cake.

How long do I wait before I start being a pain in the ass with the two doctors' offices?

vw, if you haven't already started, I would say now is good. You want to get through to at least one of them before the office takes its lunch break.

Decision~ma for Tom.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Get better soon~ma for vw.

As if my credit wasn't in bad enough shape, some evil creature has put a series of $99 charges one of my credit cards. They all came from the same place on the same day, which seems pretty obviously fraudulent, but I have to dispute it in writing and wait four to six weeks.

They all appear to have come through PayPal. You would think PayPal would want to know, but there is absolutely no place to report fraud that didn't happen to a PayPal account. Also, the word recognition robot things? Made of fail.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

But dude, why do I get so invested in the students who absolutely refuse to do anything?

I didn't see your post before you edited, but I so totally understand this feeling. You want all of your students to succeed so badly that it just drains you and it totally sucks when they refuse to care enough about themselves to actually put in any effort. I so so so get this.

Compassionately intolerant

Emily, I feel your pain. Ugh.

And thanks Sail, grubby is a great word for it. Big scrubbies needed.

Always Anti-fascist!

Who would have guessed Martha Stewart to be a Countdown viewer? Not I, anyway.
