[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Poor Daniel. At best, he'll be home by 10pm. I've got a pork roast in the oven meant to come out about now. I can slow down the oven, I guess.

And I'm so hungry, I just peeled and ate a grapefruit. Still hungry, though, and now my stomach feels weird.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Today I met up with my parents and sister at a BBQ place in Seal Beach. As we were exchanging hugs on the sidewalk, a sprightly old man said, "I'll take one of those!" He hugged my sister and proceeded on his way.

Hee, Laga. Sometimes I love old men.

“Not dead yet!”

Ah shit, Suzi-- I'd really been hoping they'd bite. Bastards.

Lots of ~ma that someone comes along, like NOW to buy the house.

IOmemeN, I have the beginnings of a sore throat and my ears hurt a little. I'd really hoped I'd escaped the crud. I'm going to go to bed early and hope to chase it away.

Barb, totally not trying to be funny, but if you have some hydrogen peroxide lying around, drop a capful in each ear. Wait until the crackling stops and then pour it out.

You'll want to be lying down as it may cause you to feel a little vertigo-y.

The last two times I've had a sketchy throat, I've done this and dodged the bullet both times.

Turns out germs hang out in the ears as well as the throat.

Since it is late and we're slow around here, I'll take the opportunity to whine about a work thing.

I have this client who is wonderful. A woman I really like personally and have felt really good about working with. She has given me the most wonderful testimonial and has been so impressed with my work that she sent her husband to me. He was dealing with an issue related to his children and we worked it out pretty quickly. In the process, he began working on himself and decided to stay with the work.

A couple of weeks ago, she skipped a session due to work pressures. Then, they went on an amazing vacation. Last night, he made his appt and we spent a long time on the trip, so I felt like we should take extra time to do substantive work.

He went home a half hour late and she went off on him. Swearing, accusing and being kinda crazy.

Today, she sent an email quitting our work together because I've been unprofessional and 'the trust is broken.'

As a professional, I'm pretty sure I know what is going on but as a person I'm really sad.

It bothers me when people begin to succeed and then shoot themselves in the foot. Plus, they are a good couple and could be a great one if she could get a grip on her jealousy/tantrum impulses. Phleh.

Oh, that's too bad, bonny. For both you and them. I hope the woman gets her act back together. And that she apologizes to you.

My biggest fear is that, when she comes down out of her tree, she'll be so embarrassed that she won't be able to come back without totally losing face. I never took it personally, but she probably won't believe that. Which means she loses twice...just so sad.

Thanks for the pat Sail. I really am bummed.

Bonny, that's crappy to have to deal with.

Barb, feel better soon.
