Librarian Warlord

Oy. This is the time of year when I wish I didn't have to deal with students. Like the woman who told me she couldn't get her paper in on time because she was too upset about the election.

Seriously, what kind of pushovers have they been dealing with that they think these kinds of excuses will fly?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Lots of ~ma for GC and Tom today.

Vortex, that insane. If people are going to lie, at least lie about something that isn't so easy to check up on. It's an insult to your intelligence.

Clearly he's nowhere near smart enough to get in anyway. I mean seriously, it came by Fedex and they're trying to pull this shit?

I'm only sorry that I didn't have it pulled up during the conversation so I could call her ass out. She even said "should he not even bother to apply?" I said 'well, if he's applying Early Action, that seems to indicate that this is his first choice school, so I'm confused as to why he would not apply because of the chance that he might not have an answer by the end of the year"

Fuck you sweetie, if you think I'm going to beg your asshole kid to apply, you've got another thing coming.

I'm getting the pig!

Do you have to be accepting in cases like that or are you able to lay a smackdown, in a diplomatic manner, on them?

Mostly lurking...

Heh. I stopped by the school I work at to pick up some things I forgot yesterday. There is no school today because of parent/teacher conferences. The lower-elementary coordinator was at the secretary's desk. I commented on how quiet it was, and she said, "Isn't it great when the students aren't here?!" Totally cracked me up.

I've been noticing extra stupidity even in my little kids lately. I'm not sure what to attribute it to, but it's getting old real fast.

I'm always diplomatic, but I hate when people lie to me. Basically, they thought that since they got the application late, he should be considered for early action no matter when he got it in (which he indicated would be three weeks past the due date)

In other "I hate this fucking job" news, asshole!boss just poked his head into my office to tell me that he was part of an event that's happening in my building, and did not bother to invite me. @@

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

OMG, yes. Last week and this week my students seem to have taken stupid pills. Seriously. They are wearing on my very last nerve.

All kinds of ~ma to Tom and GC!

{{{{ Vortex }}}} are you ok? Seems like the world is wanting to piss ya off this week. I hope your weekend is full of soothing things.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

~ma for Tom and GC.

So, I guess eventually something crap had to happen to ruin my week. A friend's ex-girlfriend who he was still very close to (he was basically always taking care of her crazy, asshole self) killed herself last night. He's a mess, my friend B was with him last night until 2, probably going to be with him the rest of the weekend and go to the funeral.

I knew her-hated her-but knew her, so I have no idea what I'm even going to say when I call this afternoon besides, "I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do to help?"

The only thing that saved me from being completely melancholy is my sister's "facebook dance" which she posted a video of last night.
