Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Nora, I'm sorry Tom didn't get the job. I hope something comes along for him soon.

I heard back from P's STBX. He was nice enough to pass on my info to P, but I doubt I'll hear from her. I'm still worried about her though. I hope she has good people in her life now.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

So annoyed. I called a hotel to get some ballpark prices for an event. She says "what's the date" I said "I don't know, sometime in June or July" She tells me "I can't give you a price" I said "I understand, can you give me a range?" She says "I can't give you a price without a date". I said "you can't tell me 'I can't give you an exact price, but our rooms run from X to Y'?" She says "fine. our rooms are from $169 to $269" I said "great, now can you transfer me to catering". She says "what kind of an event is it?" I said "It's a dinner" she replies "what kind of dinner?" I said "why does it matter?" She says "well, there are different areas"

WTFF? There are different areas? Does chicken cost more for lawyers than it does for teachers? They irritated me. I told them that I wasn't interested in working with them and hung up. Annoying, or just me? I was prepared to fight with them about contact information and such but this is ridiculous.

not your mom's socks.

Annoying, or just me?

um. considering that was this their idea of an intake call, I'd hate to see what ironing out the details or fixing any issues would look like.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Vortex - yes, annoying. They deserve to be hung up on. And not get your business. And from the sound of it, they may be losing other people's business as well.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Hola, mah Bitches. Didn't sleep good last night and ended up only getting about 2 hours. Maybe. Now feel like truck has run me over.

Only 2 more classes (6th grade!) and my advisory class then I'm done and going to bed.

Annoying, or just me

V. annoying. IME, hotels do have different rates for corporate vs private vs non-profit.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

WTFF? There are different areas? Does chicken cost more for lawyers than it does for teachers?

Weddings will often cost more. I've seen a lot of wedding planning thingys advising that you not tell vendors you're planning a wedding.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA!!!!

IOHUN (In Other Highly Unpleasant News) I am home sick because I spent most of the night throwing up violently. I may never eat food again. I'm thinking some half-strength gatorade would be nice.

Our wings are not tired.

Happy Birthday to Jessica!

{{Bitches}}

Now that I have skimmed the past couple days posts I'm concerned that there now exists eight-by-ten color glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one of GC and DW's signs. Were you planning a military career, kid?

meara - Nov 12, 2008 9:33:03 am PST #1065 of 10000

Yeah, she might've been trying to cost you for a wedding, or *possibly* she was meaning "Is it sit-down or a buffet" or something? But either way, maybe call back and try to get someone different, later. She clearly wasn't expressing herself very well.

“Not dead yet!”

She clearly wasn't expressing herself very well.

Generally considered a fault when one is supposed to be in a hospitality industry. And since I'm the vindictive type, I'd call back and ask for a supervisory type and describe what it is you expect from someone in a service position.

Nicole - Nov 12, 2008 9:43:20 am PST #1067 of 10000
I'm getting the pig!

What Barb said. There are nice ways to explain things and then there are not nice ways to explain things. It sounds like the piece of work that Vortex spoke to just didn't want to explain at all, nice or not. Very rude, IMO.
