This is why Javachik and I need to go again, but this time see ALL THE THINGS.
Man, I wanna go with you guys!!
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

Shir, another way to look at it is that Israel is a really tiny country. I believe it could comfortably fit into most German or French provinces. (Well, give the history of France and Germany vs. a vs. us Jews, the fit would not actually be comfortable.)
I live in Connecticut, which is near New York, so happy to come down to meet up.
However, Los Angeles/Orange County is almost the same size as Israel. I think.
Not quite, but close. Combined LA and Orange county is a bit less than 6000 square miles. Israel is about 8000 square miles. However if you look at just the population of Los Angeles county, it's just short of 10,000,000, while Israel is just over 8,000,000.
You'd have to add in the Inland Empire (Riverside County) to really get that, but then that's all the way to the eastern border of the state and alone is, over 7,000 square miles.
Still, just driving around in Southern California, you're looking at covering distances quite a bit greater than all of Israel.
Just logging in to say thank you, and that I saw new posts here and new emails I won't have the time to reply to till Monday or Tuesday. Sorry, I'm on a killer schedule, and the weekend's sadly over.
Hey, we get a Tom Scola tomorrow, right? I don't have the bandwidth to do anything before Saturday, or the brain power to do much planning, but I hope something will happen on the weekend!
I arrive late Wednesday; won't really be available until Thursday.

Chez Zmayhem would love to have you over on Thursday. I have a college alumni thing on Friday night, and JZ will be at Matilda's art show. You could tag along for the art show, or possibly do something even more fun with available buffistae.
So now that I'm clear on the difference between the MLA conference and the ALA Midwinters conference, is anyone coming to Philly for the latter? I may be working at a table on Saturday.
So next month on the 22nd I am having a Groovy 60th Birthday Party in Pompano Beach, FL. It is a particularly lovely time of year to visit Florida, and there is the added bonus of Party! The plans are being finalized this weekend, but music, food, drink, and spectacular people are surely part of the plan. Those of you on Facebook may have seen the Event page.
People interested in flying in for the festivities should check with FLL first, and PBI next. MIA as a last resort, but they sometimes have non-stops that the others don't. I do have quite a bit of space as the boys will stay at friends houses to free up their rooms and air mattresses can happen. I'll ask family and friends about other inexpensive options for people too.
Profile address or here is good for questions. I understand it is an odd time of year, but I would love to see as many Buffistas as possible as I celebrate the big 6.0.
