I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Spreadsheet:

Name : Monaco
Room : 189 double queen or king
Hosp. : comped if we reach 40 room nights on Fri & Sat, otherwise $250/night
Party : 150
Catering : 980
Bar : billed on drinks served
Minimum : 1500
Parking : 40/night
WiFi : free

Name : Crowne
Room : 159 double or king
Hosp. : 300/day
Party : waived
Catering : 1110
Bar : 32/person
Minimum : 2000
Parking : 32/night
WiFi : 10/day

I still think the Monaco wins -do you think the Monaco lady would be amenable to dropping the room rate?

Keep in mind also that the Crown Plaza will require us to cater the hospitality suite (we can bring in nuts or snacks but not drinks/coffee/food), which could be kind of a pain. I don't think that would be an issue at the Monaco.

And when they said 40 room nights at the Monaco that means 40 total between Fri/Sat, just to be clear. Not each night.

Oh, and....I don't know why anyone would really need a car? Pete, Jilli, Plei? Downtown, the bus is free. There are cabs everywhere...there's a bus from the airport, and a not-too-badly priced shuttle thing to the downtown hotels, too.

I think it's a buyers' market and it doesn't hurt to ask.

We might consider offering a higher minimum ($2K like at the Crowne?) if she bumps down the room rate?

Yes, Omnis, there are boundaries. Don't make me frag you.
um. Can I call a boundary! ooo, halo, gotcha. Pft, like that's difficult. I practically stand there and let ya shoot me. t /natter

Omnis is a gentleman around da ladeez. I can vouch that he would be horrified if he violated any boundaries
Thank you. Yes. Odds are, I'll be a bit of a wallflower to start with myself. That is, until ND starts pouring me drinks. Ye Gads, his punch is strong!

Spreadsheet question: do those prices include the 15.x% hotel sales tax thingie mentioned up thread? Is that tax just on the rooms, or will it be on the other services too? I'm also curious, it being my first f2f, how this all gets divied up. But that is for a lil later downthread.

We could do that. The hosted bar is $8.50 per call drink (frex), while the cash bar is $9.50 per. And, the catering is just something I pulled out of my hat - we could definitely bump that up. But, I think we could spend $2000 on booze and food - especially between Vortex, ND, and me.

The spreadsheet does not include gratuity, tax, or any other add-ons.

I can see where one or two cars might be nice (as I think you, me, and Pete are the only Buffista drivers in Seattle), but yeah, for the most part, it won't be needed.

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Well, raising the minimum by $500 is the equivalent to $12.50 per room night based on 40 room nights. So, you'd want a room rate drop of $20 before it's worth it.

I worry that the minimum ends up feeling like a hidden fee so I think it's good to minimize it. Still, I'm only staying there one night, so YMMV.

But a $2000 minimum split between 40 people, for example, is $50 and $1500 is $37.5.
