Cordelia: I get it now. You're all spies. Probably all Russian. And you've brainwashed me, and want me to believe we're friends so I'll spill the beans about some nano-technology thingy that you want. Gunn: So I look Russian to you? Cordelia: Black Russian. Angel: That's a drink.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

APE isn't really crowded; it's like going to the grocery store when it's busy. But eating and drinking, yay!

You've never seen me at the grocery store when it's busy. I turn into a laser-beam-eyed ball of raaaaaaaage. Seriously, I want to kill everyone in the store. So I try to grocery shop at 9 p.m. on Sundays. Better in the long run, because I wouldn't last in prison.

Yes, but you wouldn't have to go grocery shopping anymore.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Just pipe-dreams...but -- D and I have never had a honeymoon and it'll be 5 years in 2014.

1-- Do you think SDCC is a good venue for a geeked-out, smartie-pants, well-behaved 12 y.o. boy?

2-- Hotels are booked and would be WAAAAAY out of our price range; would SFists' homes also be booked for SFCC? (We're excellent, tidy, polite guests, who clean and cook and curl up in tiny places to sleep!) We are also very funny and amusing!

Like I said, I'm just thinking at this point, but JUST MAYBE, if we asked for money only for Xmas, we could swing it. It would be SO. AMAZING.

Thoughts from SDCC pros?

Sure! Good luck getting tickets, he says almost sarcastically.

I am a little confused here about your plan to stay in San Francisco and commute to San Diego.

Don't make plans until you manage to snag tickets, which are nigh impossible to get because a million people want to go and the servers crash and it's a nightmare. I am not sure when they open up sales for next year, but it may be soon.

That's what I get for "thinking" early in the AM!

So, Magic 8 Ball says "BWAHAHAHAHA!! Dream on, Geek Family!"?

Sigh. It was a long shot. Oh, well, we like the Ozarks!

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

I could come say hi to you guys there and wear my Winchester Bros. shirt for the fan convention experience...

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Strix, I will mention DragonCon. It happens in Atlanta over Labor Day weekend. It's not the media draw that SDCC is, but last weekend's con had several stars from The Walking Dead, two previous Doctors, three people from Spartacus including Lucy Lawless, several Trek cast members including William Shatner and George Takei, and so on. In addition to writers, comic artists, costumers, podcasters, and everything else you can think of. And Ed Asner.

It gets very crowded, especially on Saturday, and it's spread out over several hotels in a several-block area. But tickets for next year are available now, and the convention area is convenient to public transportation.

Cincinnati actually has 2 comic-cons now. One was started 4 years ago, and it's gotten big enough to be 3 days, and is branching out into being more of a pop-culture convention, with actors (including Nicholas Brendon this year, and no, I don't think I'm going) and speed dating and a geek prom and whatnot.

The second one (which happens to be this weekend) just started this year. Apparently some comics creators (::cough::TonyMoore::cough::) decided that they want a convention that is JUST comics-related and not a pop-culture convention. Which is fine, there's no problem with 2 conventions...except they scheduled it for the weekend before the other comic-con. Which is a pretty dick move.

Anyway, I don't know what the dates for them are next year, although I assume September, and they might be big enough to warrant checking out.
