I'm just waiting to see if I pass out. Long story.

Okay, DCistas, I'm booking my travel (procrastinatey!)

Current best option looks like into BMI Monday the 17th at 4:18pm, and out of DCA at Thursday the 20th at 9:20am. Event is on Wednesday, so that would leave me Monday night and Tuesday for Buffistas and/or running around town or whatnot.

I would love a Buffista couch to sleep on Monday night, and a lift to the hotel (Phoenix Park) on Tuesday. I know it's during the workweek, so if it's tough, I can make it work, but would love some 'ffista time. Would that be possible? And is there still a DCistas mailing list I should be sending this to instead?

Booking into BMI, eh?

Or there's one that gets in at midnight, but I hate to drag someone out to the airport so late on a weeknight. It would mean I could drive to Phx Monday instead of having to find a place to stay there on Sunday night instead. But I would be pretty crashed on arrival.

Sorry, BWI!

Liese, I can help you out with a couch, for sure, but I can't get you downtown the next morning. We are just under a mile from the Red Line, and I could give you a lift there or it's an easy walk, and you'd get of at Union Station and walk a block or two to the hotel. My DH will be out of town so I will be single parenting so I will be at the mercy of my 3 year old's schedule and whims.

Also, whenever my DH goes overseas there are usually natural disasters or the basement floods or some other event. Just so you know.

I still consider this highly suspicious.

Great, Sparky, thanks!

Can people get together Tuesday, or should I just plan on coming in on Tues instead of Mon? I know it's a weekday and holiday season, so I'm totally cool, but I would love to see as many of you as possible.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I should be able to get together on Tuesday.

Ok! So I booked the Tuesday flight in. I'll be getting into BWI at about 4:20. The event will be on Weds at 11. I'll tool around Thursday, and fly out from BWI again at about 7:30.

What this means to you all is: - Sparky, looks like I won't need the bed. Thank you for offering! If parenting keeps you from dinner out, could I maybe swing by some other time just to say hi? - Maria, Lisa, & possibly sarameg: Shall we set a place & time for dinner Tues? - Strega: I'm up for lunch/dinner on Thurs. - Sara: I'm up for airport shenanigans on Thurs: what time would work for you?

I am suddenly very excited about this trip. I've emailed this as well as fb for those of you I have over there, and you can also text me, number's in profile, to clarify details or coordinate when I'm on my way or whatever.
