javachik, it would never work out between us. I don't love baseball.
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
Ha. I've always loved sports more than anyone I've dated. Hasn't been an issue! ;)
Who's game?
Me! I will gladly leave my DH (packing/unpacking I dunno where we will be on that spectrum) for flea and bring my adorable child with me.
can I date both Flea and Javachick? I love museums AND baseball!
All that to say, wish I was in DC. Sounds like a fun time.
Saw Javachik for a fantastic afternoon in Philly. HPF ithinks Javachik is the coolest. I agree.
Hey Nora and Tom, any advice on French Quarter hotels over Halloween? I looked at the former Hotel St. Anne where we had the f2f and found it's been renovated into a boutique hotel way too swanky for my blood.
what's your price range? And do you want to be in the Quarter for sure or would you be interested in the CBD/Warehouse District (on the other side of Canal Street).
Well, I'd prefer to keep under $150 a night, though I could go a bit over that. I'd definitely want to stay on the Quarter side of Canal.
Matt, I have to put in a plug for Elysian Fields Inn I've stayed there several times (last time this year for my birthday). Jim and Leigh are great. It's not in the Quarter, it's in Marigny, but it's about a 15 minute walk. It's quiet, the hotel shuttle stops there, and I think all of the rooms are under $150.
Looking at Kayak, Hotel Monteleone is $192 on reservetravel, the Holiday Inn French Quarter-Chateau Lemoyne on Dauphine is $139, and the Bienville House on Decatur (where we've stayed) is $159. Looks like the Marriott on the FQ side of Canal has rooms for $172 on Kayak.
Haven't been to the Holiday Inn (or known anyone who has), but it's a good location and well reviewed.
