The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Safely home.

I had a great time. It was wonderful to see everyone. Thanks again to Pix for doing all the organizing.

Finally uploaded pictures from F2F. They're all of Prom and the trip to Griffith Observatory.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Any Midwest Buffistas at a loose end August 6-10? I've rented a cottage near Traverse City, and my family can only join me from the evening of Aug. 10-12. The place has three bedrooms, and I'd be happy for fellow board members to hang in two of them for a day or four. There's a full kitchen, and the beach is just across the street. So one could have mini-vacation for the cost of gas to get to the northwestern lower peninsula (and, this being MI, the cost of bug spray). Or there's wine tasting, various touristy things, and a big ol' foodie culture if you'd like to explore the area with me. But really, the lake is right there.

Anyway, my profile addy's good. First contacts get actual beds. If enough people are interested, we can discuss couches and whatnot.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Aw, I was interested for a sec, I have family in Traverse City - but then looked at the date again. My best friend is getting married on the 11th, so I'm already booked. Bummer. Have fun!

information libertarian

I once drove to Traverse City for a weekend - it's 10 hours from Cincinnati - but that was when I was young and foolish and, most importantly, did not have children. In any case, we'll be on Cape Cod that week. But enjoy the cherries and/or sand dunes!

Darn all this inconvenient geography! Darn it to heck! Still, weddings and Cape Cod sound lovely, too.

Calli, I'd love to join you especially because last summer we were in Pentwater (where my SIL's family has 2 houses and my brother and SIL live in their own house). But alas, can't afford it and we have to be back at school that week (blargh! but early start means early out).
