Let me guess. We're in a hurry.

F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I am home from the overnight plane ride from hell, where I was stuck behind a wall with no tray table and a seat that refused to recline so I could really snooze. At least the 1 hour flight back to Madison was 2/3 empty and I had a row to myself to stretch out in and catnap.

I had a most awesome F2F! It was wonderful to meet up with old friends, to make new ones (Becca and Cricket are totes Buffistas), to meet more Buffistas that I've interacted on the board with but not met in person. Both Burrell and Kat Perez were a treat to meet. It was so nice to meet Kat and the twins. Grace taught me how to say "nice to meet you" in ASL! And then she called me silly. (There should be an emoticon there, but I will spare it for those who disdain them.) Dcp, that sly devil, did get the best spot at the brunch table on Sunday and since I was his left with Scrappy on his right, I didn't get a chance to speak with Scrappy, but I did admire her red hair of awesomeness. I am so glad I made it to the F2F this year, because I honestly don't know if I'll have the opportunity again for another couple of years.

I do have some photos to put up, but right now I am beat and I'm heading up to my bed for more catnapping.

eta: Oh! And Pix and Drew were the most awesome hosts. If Drew ever decides to give up sound designing and Kristin teaching, they should start an event scheduling business.

And I owe many thanks to epic_tangent's friend Wayne who gave me a ride from the hotel to LAX. Above and beyond, even the friends of Buffistas are the best.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

"You can come too!"

Considering the look I got when I suggested I might be taking a long weekend in August, I'll have to say "we'll see" and leave it at that.

I'm sorry I missed everyone!

ETA: Why is blockquote not working?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

You need to forcibly refresh your browser a few times.

The status is NOT quo.

The last hurrah of the F2F! Dcp and Epic are still in town, so I've brought them to the Huntington. They are currently browsing through the phenomenal Hall of Science--we will then hit a couple of the art galleries and highlights of the botanical gardens.

Oh, also--Brenda and Erin, the Royal Robbins website has some great deals on the stuff we saw in the store (and more)...and they have an outlet in Berkeley and Modesto. I say field trip.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Made it home! (I actually made it back to town in about 2 hours - thanks for the tip about the 210, ND! - but had to stop at the store, get gas, etc.) Anyway, home now!

But sad to see the end of an awesome F2F!

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

It was really wonderful as always to see everyone, and even get to meet some Buffistas for the first time in person (dcp, kat perez). Just about everyone who couldn't make it was missed, but especially those of you who were planning on coming but had to back out at the last minute.

WebMD seems to know it was f2f this weekend. They e-mailed me this link on hangover myths: [link]

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Not sure if it’s worth mentioning, but I went back and corrected the white balance and exposure on the F2F pictures. Futzing around with photoshop was something to keep me occupied because I MISS YOU ALL SO MUCH.
