And as for outings I would LOVE to see Griffith and Huntington (the walking no prob for me but the admission fee is a little spendy) and wouldn't mind some clothes shopping on Saturday since I have nothing nice to wear to prom (woe is me! i've outgrown all my pretty clothes :(
Also haven't yet seen any of the movies in theatres, would be game for Avengers, Magic Mike...yeah, I'll go pretty much anywhere others are going. And swimming. I loves me some water sports. Will be packing at least one swimsuit.
I would be very much up for smaller indoor/outdoor room and quieter music for more of a quiet prom/soiree if that would help lower costs. Just my $0.02.
It won't affect costs at all -- those are all locked in at this point. It was more a matter of the appropriateness of the venue. The Colorado room is big and hidden away downstairs in the basement for loud music and such. The Soliel Room is indoor/outdoor and smaller, but because it is right next to the dining room and under guest rooms, we couldn't have loud music.
Ah. For the number of attendees we have now, if divided evenly, how much would we each have to spend on drinks to make the bar tab?
If the cost is locked, I say go for the room we can make noise in. Not that I am an advocate of LOUD. But, I know nothing throws a wet blanket on a party like a worker bee telling us to take it down a notch or two. And hey, then more room to dance in. Just means, no wall flowers! (Looks at mirror as much as anyone else on this one).
There is a small chance that I will have to slip away from day activities on the weekend. My mortgage has just been approved, so, hopefully in at least 2 days, the signing of stack of papers will happen. My Realtor said with the holiday next week, they may opt for the weekend to sign. But I will be attending prom & BBQ!
As for vehicles, I am happy to drive. Just be aware, my a/c is non-functional. Forwarned is fair warned, ya? Hey, it's not Texas. It just gets a little warm in the sun. Cooling is via 55-4 mode (55mph - 4 windows rolled down).
And I am totally hip to the Griffith trip. It's free admission to the park and observatory. I think the only fee is for the planetarium shows (the ones ND and I have worked on) and those are $7 each. And a very cool experience, if you ask me!
I'm considering flying and can get a pretty decent last minute fare on Southwest into Burbank, arriving 11:25am. Anyone else gonna be arriving in Burbank around that time and want to share a shuttle?
I get in at 10:50 AM! I was just about to book a SuperShuttle. But looks like you're covered. Sad about SA; I had a lot of fun with her in Seattle.

That's what I want to go for! Also pop culture and stuff.
Don't forget the science. I mean, it's SCIENCE!!! How cool is that?!?
I can pick you both up if you don’t mind waiting, PC.
I don't mind; I will have
A Clash of Kings
to read. And then I will have an Erin to keep me company. Thanks, I appreciate it.
My email is robin@fogelson.com, Pix, if you want to send me your address and let me know what I can bring. Big bags of Ice? Bottle of wine? Chips?
