Truly not meaning to pressure anyone who can't afford to donate or chooses not to--that's why I've waited until now to book the Prom, honestly. I didn't want to put anyone on the board in the situation of feeling like they have to send money they can't afford.
That said, given a couple of emails from people mailing checks, I think we can come up with the remaining money (we only need to raise another $150 or so) so I'm going to book the Prom room today. Yay F2F! Yay Prom!

Oh, meant to add that if we raise more than what we need for the HS and Prom, we will use the extra to offset the costs of the BBQ Friday night or stock the HS with some snacks.

We are booked! We're in a great room with indoor/outdoor space (lovely patio where the bar will be set up). We will have an open bar until we spend $425, at which point it will turn to a cash bar, and we will have veggies and "fiesta" finger food (Mexican themed, obviously). The catering manager Frieda is a sweetheart and told me that the Victorian and regency dancers always party in full costume here, so we shouldn't worry about a few corsets. The Soleil Room, where Prom will be (although it's listed as a "reception") is next to the restaurant, but we can enter through the patio so we don't need to troop through diners. Prom will be 8-midnight.
I am officially getting excited. I will post pictures to my Flickr account a bit later. Whee!!!
