Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

I got the group rate for Sunday night as well, but yeah, there was never a discount for Thursday. Works out for the best though, I can stay at a hotel near LAX and not have to navigate public transportation after 11pm.

Dolce Far Niente

This was the theme of my visit to San Francisco. I was, unfortunately, exhausted and coming out of the worst allergy attack I can remember. But it was a lovely trip and I saw my dear Buffistas, ate good food, did some sightseeing, wandered around aimlessly, and returned home rested and refreshed.

Many thanks to javachik, megan walker, David, JZ, juliana, and lee for the hospitality and time spent with them. I got to meet juliana's husband, visit with her and Lee, pick out some polish from the circulating box. I rode the cable cars and spent time just sitting and looking at the bay, smelling the salt water, watching the fog listing from the Golden Gate Bridge. I had breakfast at Zazie with David and he showed me a ittle of parts of SF I hadn't seen before. I had dinner with java and megan, and JZ was able to join us for dessert. I visited Britex and spent too much money on notions alone, found a nifty card shop and stocked up. I learned to ride the Muni - with instructions from Lee - and got around a bit that way.

I may not have left my heart in San Francisco, but I seem to have left a bra behind. oh well ....

Thanks to all who helped make it one of my better vacations!

information libertarian

Non-F2F news - I arrive at LGA tomorrow at 1:30. Does it seem reasonable to meet up at 3 or 3:30 at the Natural History Museum, for those who like such things? And/or do dinner in that neighborhood afterwards? I am very flexible about food. I know Tom Scola and Hil had mentioned being interested in meeting up. I'll put the number of the phone I'll have with me in my profile.

Not a tag line but should be.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

That's probably reasonable time-wise -- you could probably make it in that time, but any sorts of delays at the airport or traffic could make it later. I'd be interested in Natural History and/or dinner.

aha! thank you!

And, to add to the Buffista lexicon - an advice columnist referred to a COMM moment as a "two-nostril salute".

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oooh, notions at Britex Fabrics? Lovely! Isn't that place an utter fabulous swoony fever dream of a fabric store?

It was lovely seeing you Todd; I quite enjoyed it.
