ZOMG, ya'll, I think i can actually make it! I have the vacation time...it'll eat away some of my east-coast vacation time but i think i'm old enough that my parents can make do with a few days each, or come visit me if they want more daughter time. Likely arriving Friday and staying till Monday (maybe Tuesday).

eta: i was thinking about driving, but just don't have the time before for the trip. So no car for me unless i rent one, which doesn't seem very necessary in lovely pasadena.
eta2: I *could* drive to SoCal before my trip east, leave the car at whatever airport works out to the best flight to DC, then drive home after the F2F....hrm....how worth it is it to have another hybrid (honda) available for day trips?

Just booked my flight!! Getting into Burbank at 10:50 AM and meeting a friend for lunch. Pix, how much is a taxi from Burbank airport to Pasadena? I'm wondering if I should rent a car since I'll also need to get to my friends' place on Sunday night (and then back to the airport Monday morning).

Sure! When I cancel my Thursday reservation (have decided it would be easier and cheaper to stay near LAX since I'll be arriving late), I'll have them put your name on the room for those nights.
