Yay, Laura in my neighborhood!
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
They haven't published the bracket schedule so I don't even know when we are playing yet. When I know the program I can make more plans. I will drive for sure, so I'll have a car/van.
So the bad news is that they aren’t going to waive the $9 (ish) per day Internet fee. Feh. However, they do have free internet in the lobby and business centers, so people who don’t want to pay the fee will have that option.
On the plus side, she knocked almost $30/day off the normal room rate to get us to $109, so we’re already saving a fair amount.
Sounds like an excellent trade to me.
Pix, when can start making reservations?
General question: I know there are LAistas with kids -- are any non-localistas with kids contemplating going? With kids or solo?
If I come (highly unlikely, unfortunately), it will be solo.
Unfortunately for my travel budget, everyone in the universe is getting married this year including my brother in law who lives in England. So I'm pretty sure the only way I could afford to come to the F2F is if I were hitchhiking. (I'm using up my miles on a wedding in Chicago in May.)
I would like to go, but I've said the same the past two years and not been able to make it. Still, if I can, I will be there. I've been to Pasadena only once, with a friend, and we didn't really see much of it because we were staying with her relatives. I think we did Hollywood Blvd. for Grauman's Chinese theatre and such and then Olvera St. None of which is in Pasadena!
Java, I have to sign the contract when I get home from this trip and then we will have a reservation link.
Needless to say, I'll be there. And will very likely get a room for at least Saturday, if not both nights, just to make my life easier. Pasadena is a bit of a hike from my place on public transit.
Oh, yeah. I don't have a car any more, so I won't be able to offer up transport this time around.
