See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Powell's, and Cass, and erin_obscure, and SA. And also an art district to die for, and a fabulous chain of swanky arthouse movie theaters and event venues, and more craft breweries than you can shake any number of sticks at. And Cass and erin and SA! (2/3 of whom have been sadly lurkish lately, but still. Excellent humans all.)

The status is NOT quo.

Yep, Portland rocks. It would be great if someone there wants to organize.

I’ve been looking at my calendar, and I think I may propose two wildly different dates when the proposal goes live: one in April and one in June. Heat really isn’t the issue (anyone who’s lived in SoCal knows about June Gloom), but I figured that might give people more options. I’m thinking the weekends of April 16th or 28th and June 16th right now. June would be much easier for me, but April would be doable if I took a personal day. Hm. Plotting.

xposty from Beep Me:

I'm unexpectedly in Seattle today. Should any Seattlistas have time this afternoon, it would be great to connect. If not, I consider it a sign that I should sleep and watch tv, so it's good either way.

Yeah, somebody go rescue stranded libkitty!

How "afternoon" are we talking, libkitty? Does that include early evening? I could bum off work a little early, but I have stuff that needs doing (and isn't at this moment getting done, imagine that!)

“Not dead yet!”

X-post from Beep Me:

SoCal-isats, I'll be in Long Beach from 11/2-11/5 for a ballroom competition. This is my first big one, out of my local area, so to say I'm nervous is understating it. So far, what I know is I'll be competing Thursday and Friday, single dance events during the day and the scholarship events (where I do all of the dances in one go) on those same evenings after 8PM. The event is taking place at the Westin Long Beach.

I wish, meara. I need to go through security by about 5:30.

Barb, we’d love to see you! We’re actually going to a friend’s big after-Halloween-Horror-Nights Halloween party the night of the 4th...IN LONG BEACH. Hmm...

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

x-post from Press:

DC-, Baltimore-, and other local-istas, mark your calendars for brunch on Sunday, November 6th. We will be sending the vibrant, voluptuous, vivacious, and vital Vortex off to the wilds of suburban Connecticut with three of her favorite things: friends, food, and mimosas.

Vortex has suggested Masa 14, which has a unlimited prix fixe brunch (including unlimited brunch beverages) for $35/person. Menu here: [link]

We are under no obligation to follow her suggestion, so if anyone has other ideas, make your way to F2F and let's discuss. I would like to finalize location and head count as soon as possible in order to ensure there's adequate space for us.

Time-wise I was thinking around 11 am/12 noon, which gives the suburban DC and Baltimore folks time to get downtown without getting up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday.

Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions?
