Yay for meara in LA! Not sure about hotels, but there's lots of yummy food to eat, in pretty much every price range.
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
Any neighborhoods that would have some food and fun walking distance, but also have hotels, would probably be the preference.
Well I'm on the Westside so that's where my knowledge is skewed. I'd say Santa Monica or MidWilshire for this side of town, not sure about more east. Silverlake? Hollywood?
We throw a Big Damn Urban Family Thanksgiving at our place--you would of course be invited!!

It's very tasty! And I have been known to make drinks...
Yes, and I should add that any LAista is always welcome to join us. MW comes and stays each year, which is an added Buffista bonus!
Meara, when in comparison to Thanksgiving will you be there? Hubs and I will be in town the Sunday and Monday before, the 20th and 21st. (We'll be on a cruise leaving LA on Tuesday.)
LAistas, we'd be interested in meeting up for dinner or the like on the evening of Sunday, 11/20. We're going to visit Hubs's sister in San Diego on Monday, so that day probably won't be too good for us. We're staying in Santa Monica, if that helps in organizing.
Anyone have a suggestion of where a fun place for a (notsuperexpensive) hotel would be?
I've had good luck using Priceline getting hotels in LA. You might try lowballing four star hotels on the Westside and see what you get.
Guy on CNN offered his travel tip, which was to look up prices on Hotwire and bid 30% less than that on Priceline. He only bids on four-star hotels, and since Priceline lets you limit the area where you want to stay you can usually target something very close to what you want.
Ooo! Fred Pete and hubs too? Dang I feel like we are getting to hoard all the buffistas this fall.
There's loads of food in SM Fred Pete, it should be easy to set something up.
DCistas, don't forget brunch on Sunday at Capitol City Brewing Company at 11:30. We have quite a large reservation, so if anyone can't make it, please let me know so that I can change it.
