F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
Suzi, we can throw a poll up on Sunday when we get together, unless you can get to it before that. I'm in the Atlanta airport for another 3.5 hours and then on a plane home.
Erin, trail ride? Like on horses? I know of a place in Golden (near where I work) that rents horses for guided trail rides along the foothills.
I would prefer to keep prom at the hotel, if possible, and we can look at more hotel options on Sunday.
I would prefer to keep prom at the hotel
Yes this is best.
Yeah, we've done prom at a separate location in the past, but weren't they always within easy walking distance of the host hotel? If that's not a possibility I'd say the hotel doesn't meet our needs.
I have contacted another hotel that can accommodate both dates, a hospitality suite, and the party. I don't have room rates yet - she said she would e-mail me by the end of the day.
It is in the tech center, so surrounded by office buildings, but there are great restaurants hidden within many of the buildings. The hotel also has a shuttle that goes within a 5 mile radius. The walk to light rail is a little further, but I would think that anyone who doesn't feel comfortable with the walk could hop the shuttle.
I'm hoping she comes back with good rates. Her boss's kids take karate at the dojo. Another dojo connection! I have seen him at the dojo, but didn't know what he did until a couple of days ago. He gave me his card and told me to name drop. Hopefully it pays off.
Let's see about the other hotel rates, then. No alcohol or music is, I think, a dealbreaker. I mean, we won't be Keith Richardsing it, but booze and music is definitely fun.
Trudy, excellent! Let's plan on that! WOOT! Although I won't be as naughty as I was the last time I saw you (at a teacher conference -- boy howdy, was I naughty) since I'm all married now! Craxy!
Nicole, yep, trail rides if enough peeps are interested and price and transpo wouldn't be an issue. Otherwise, I am totes down with shopping and sightseeing and such.
I haven't been on a horse in about 8 years or so. I wonder if they got the little stair units to help you get on the horse. Otherwise, it's no go for me. Also, if it's steep hills, it might be a no go. But I'd be up for trying.
No booze would be bad. Not that I'm a heavy drinker, it sure did make things fun.
I'm jazzed that there is a high chance I can go!
Hokay...I have the scoop on our new hotel option.
While there are rooms available both weekends, we would not be able to get a hospitality suite the first weekend.
The pricing she gave me is good as long as we commit by April 1st. Kings and Doubles would be $95 and we would not have an obligated minimum number of rooms. Parking and wifi are included in that price. Nicole and I will go over the details regarding the hospitality suite and prom costs.
So, my new question is - does the lack of a hospitality suite knock out the first weekend? We could always get a regular room as a meet up and "notice board" place.
And - who sets up polls? If we haven't knocked out that first weekend, then we should do a poll - I have the selections, just don't know how to set it up.
I can set up a poll. Tell me exactly what you'd like me to ask and I'll have it up in a jiffy.
I just put it together. Link in Press.
