Well, c'mon. Kahlua mint is gross anyway--but in QUICHE?? (I'm not sure why we had some bizarre spread at prom that involved quiche, but it was a quiche the size of two pizzas, we decided...Vortex was going to sort out "giving us our money back" with the catering company the next day)
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
Liese, nebbermind. I am not going to guitar show and the OC as I have to work on Sunday. Yes, AGAIN. Poor DH will have to go alone. Sorry.
Oh, boo, Scrappy. Not fair.
Liese, $32 is too much for us to spend (I think the face value of those are $34?), but by all means iffen you wanna go you TOTALLY should.
Is Saturday possible?
Yeah, it`s high for me too. List was something like 50 including ticketmaster fees I think.
Saturday will work. When the SO gets home I will clarify his afternoon schedule. I`m thinking 3ish if you`re looking for daytime.
Sorry to be a cheapo about the tickets. 3ish sounds absolutely great.
No, it's no problem. I feel the same way, and it adds up super fast with four people. Too bad the craigslist guy didn't pan out.
OH! I forgot to tell you. He finally emailed me back and was like, "Sorry, but my email broke with all of the responses. I sold them to a re-seller. Here's the link to the site." Um. Thanks?
Except the caterers fucked up and made us kahlua mint quiche. Ew. So Vortex and I had to have a talk with the hotel about how they were going tonpay for our pizza.
oh, you are so right about the ew.
Here is my pitch for Minneapolis for the big F2F:
Travel/transportation - the MSP airport is a hub for Delta, after the merger with Northwest airlines. This may make air travel more convenient for those coming from a distance. A light rail line has stations at both terminals of MSP, as well as stops at the Mall of America and in downtown Minneapolis.
Attractions/Activities suggestions
- Paddleboat cruise on the Missippi River >[link]
- Minnesota Science Museum, including the collection of Questionable Medical Devices >[link]
- Mall of America, including such attractions as more stores than you can shake a stick at (try it, I'll bet your arm gets really tired before you have shaken the stick at all of them), Underwater Adventures, House of Comedy, Amazing Mirror Maze, ACES flight simulator, etc.
- The Wabasha Street Caves in St. Paul - cave tours on Saturdays, Swing Nights on Thursdays.
Weather in Minnesota in June is relatively mild, temperatures in the 70s or 80s.
ETA: Every time I look at a calendar, my eyes land on June 24-26 (or expanded, Thursday, June 23 through Monday, June 27) as an harmonious time frame.
ETA2: Since that is Pride Weekend, then perhaps the harmoniousness I got had nothing do with our F2F.
ALSO, lcat suggested adding the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden [link] to the list of attractions.
